85. what would be on a moodboard for your current wip(s)?
Ooh! This a fun question, but very difficult for me, because my brain is really not wired for all the visual stuffā¦I love seeing everyoneās fic covers and moodboards, but I donāt have the skills to make one myself.
But letās talk about Hosie Historic Preservation, my Hallmark-style fic idea for this yearās Christmas fic (hopefully š¤), which Iām trying to write on for as long as my brainās up for it right now š¤
So weāre gonna have pictures of the Salvatore Boarding Houseāthe exterior, the library, the fireplace. And since itās winter and Christmas, small-town town square in the snow and/or decorated from Christmas (probably some screencaps from TVD would have this from Covington/Mystic Falls?) A ski slope nestled among verdant trees. And some stills or screencaps from 2x08 āThis Christmas Was Surprisingly Violentāāespecially this one:
Some more baked goods (a basket of muffins?). A clean yet homey, cozy bedroom, quilt on the bed. A radiator. But also some images of peeling paint and cracked plaster, that sort of thing.
A businesswoman in a powerful blue pantsuit, maybe a Louboutin seen from behind. A shot of some part of the NYC skyline with high-rises and skyscrapers (again probably in the snow). Part of a deed or contract, worn and faded somewhat by time (but not too muchā¦itās not necessarily that old). Maybe a ledger showing lots of red? A black limo. A bank safety deposit box on a table, with its lid leaning against it. A section of cemetery with several headstones.

Iām not sure what sort of image of Hope specifically Iād choose (unlike Josie, where Iād seen that specific one recently). Aurora looking shifty or menacing. Maybe Maya looking excited or Landon looking goofy in love? Sebastian looking very old-timey. Penelope with a smirk. Grandma Mary. Lizzieā¦I donāt have a specific idea for her, eitherā¦happy and free, but beyond that?
And then some tender, intimate, dim/poorly-lit (š) Hosie scene, because Hosie endgame, of course! (If all else fails, the one Iām using as my header image, even though thereās no magic in this fic.)
Iām only about 5K words into this, Hope and Josie havenāt met yet, so I donāt know more than the skeleton of the story arc (I donāt even know what the role of the talisman is going to be), and itās possible that Iād have other things Iād add laterā¦but these are the kind of vibes (and a few spoiler-ish references š) Iām working with so far.
