Rufus and Juna could BOTH have been made more compelling had Juna been the protag of CS3 like how she is for CS4 and the Auric Knight Trial could have been a competition between them. Like, the trial took place in the marshes of Crossbell, right next to where Juna's dad works and in the prinicpality Rufus claims sovreignty over.
The rest of CS3/4 could play out mostly the same, just with that little extra bit of motivation for Juna that sets her up to be the protag of Cold Steel 4—oh, what's that? It's a fakeout? After the first act they shove Juna's development aside to make her part of Rean's harem?
Yeah. That checks out.
