Spideychelle Headcanon: In Which Peter's Got MJ Spinnin' Around
It's hard to be a cold hearted bitch like you love being when Peter Parker is your boyfriend
When the sweetest most genuine boy to ever smile at you sees you as his entire world
With Peter, MJ feels so carefree and happy and it's like a dream
Hell she even appreciates their arguments bc it strengthens their relationship
MJ hasn't felt this carefree and giddy since she was a kid
And her days as a kid were an eternity ago
Her childhood was one in which she was raised foremost by her parents and second by Disney
She consumed everything Disney
The movies, the TV shows, the video games, the magazines, the comics
That's not to say she wasn't blindly consuming, she was sure to criticize the crappy 2000's direct to video sequels like nobody's business
But yes MJ was a Disneyholic
She remembers 2003 particularly fondly
The Lion King was being re-released, That's So Raven was in swing, bubblegum pop reigned
One song in particular was so corny and cheesy and mushy but even little MJ loved it for what it was - Spinnin' Around by Jump 5
It was pure fun to listen to as she played Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure
And hoped that some boy or girl would one day be as crazy about her as the singers of the song were
Bc even back then MJ was a hopeless romantic
Well one day she feels ready to open up to Peter about this halycon memory from her childhood
And they play the game together and Peter loves it, and just smiles at her fondly as she describes her long feelings about the song
She's blushing as she finishes "What?" She mumbles, loving his dreamy grin
"You're so cute when you get real passionate like this, you know?" Peter grinned even harder
She shoves him "you're so lame!" She exclaims, poorly hiding a grin
He responds by pulling her in for a tight squeeze and some kisses on her forehead
And she just laughs her ass off bc she's having so much damn fun with this sweet dork
And she loves that he loves her love of trashy sugary bubblegum pop and old Disney stuff
And she loves that Peter makes her feel as wild and free and loving as Jump 5
Because Peter does run her world upside down
And she'll keep her heart, her eyes on him
Because he keeps her spinnin' around
