A burning being with some vampiric traits. As an additional note, if one manages to find her skin and rub it with salt or hot peppers, she can be killed as this will prevent her from reentering her skin.

Jumbee
A jumbee, jumbie, mendo or chongo in Colombia and Venezuela is a type of mythological spirit or demon in the folklore of some Caribbean countries. Jumbee is the generic name given to all malevolent entities. There are numerous kinds of jumbees, reflecting the Caribbean’s complex history and ethnic makeup, drawing on African, Amerindian, East Indian, Dutch, English, and even Chinese mythology.
Different cultures have different concepts of jumbees, but the general idea is that people who have been evil are destined to become instruments of evil (jumbee) in death. Unlike the ghost folklore which represents a wispy fog-like creature, the jumbee casts a dark shadowy figure.
Cryptid of the Day: Jumbee
Description: The Jumbee is a type of spirit/demon found in Caribbean culture, though Jumbees differ depending on ethnicity. To keep them away, one can put shoes in front of their house. The spirit will send the entire night trying to put on the shoes, despite not having feet.
In Caribbean folklore, a jumbie is a dangerous spirit. They are not always considered evil, but are often said to be to be souls turned to an ill purpose after death. They most often appear as dark, shadowy figures.
Some people, particularly in Montserrat, will leave offerings for jumbies, most often rum or food. It is said that leaving a pair of shoes outside a house's front door will confuse a jumbie, who will try to put the shoes on despite having no feet.

So tonight as soon as I opened my door I turned to walk in backwards (a Guyanese ting) and there was a black cat with yellow eyes following me. Between breaking mirrors and black cats I'm about to unleash some powerful magick or run into some serious bad luck...
