“Hands come up to his sides. He jumps, but the contact drags him closer to reality. It’s Cisco who’s telling him to breathe, he processes finally. “It’s okay. I’m used to it.”
“Don’t you get tired? Of them trying to exploit you?” Julian asked calmly, trailing a hand through Cisco’s hair. They were tangled together on the couch, Julian curled up against him as the steady thrum of rain sounded outside.
Cisco sighed, leaning in to the contact. “It’s okay. I’m used to it.”
It wasn’t okay. Of course it wasn’t. Sometimes, Cisco wondered if the team only cared for him if he was doing them a favor. Even then, he always came second. God, he would die for his friends. He had even offered to. But they were more concerned about it making Caitlin a murderer than they were over his offer to let them kill him.
“They don’t deserve you,” Julian whispered into his chest.
“They’re my best friends,” Cisco could only reply. It was a weak rebuttal, he knew. Perhaps he was more trying to justify his staying to himself, rather than to Julian.
“We should go away for a while. Leave this whole mess for a while.”
Cisco gave him the barest of smiles. Maybe they should get away. Everything was spinning out of control. It was like every day was a new tragic twist, taking more and more of a toll on the two of them. It might be their last chance.
“Yeah, Jules… I’d like that.”
They're... gay.......
