Judd muttered under his breath as a siren began to sound from his phone, the sound of a baby's cry matching the noise. He tossed down his newspaper, where he had been looking at the local high school football scores, and launched himself out of his chair.

As Callie continued to cry, Eddie rocked her against his chest. "I've got her, go on. We knew there was a chance the fire would spread and you would get called out. Go, I can handle the house."

With a quick kiss to Eddie's lips, and one to Callie's head, Judd was out the front door.

"Fire safety is no joke, Hollywood." Judd said as he turned the handle of the pot around. Eddie's eyes rolled playfully. "Yes, Judson, I know that. I was a firefighter in Los Angeles, remember? For quite a while, at that."

Eddie had Callie on his chest as Judd was making dinner for the family. "I know how dangerous fire is, but Callie is a baby, and I don't think she needs the fire safety lecture yet, alright? Give it a few years until she can remember it, until then, Captain Ryder, you have some more time to work on it."

Here's your word: blanket.

"Will you please lay down and rest like the doctor told you to?" Eddie snarked, his frustration beginning to boil over as he saw Judd up and moving around, the exact opposite of what his surgeon had told him to do.

Judd rolled his eyes, hopping on his useable leg to turn and look at his husband. "Hollywood, I'm fine! I've been through studs getting put into my knee, my ACL is gonna be alright." His hands landed on Eddie's waist and tugged him closer. "How about this, I'll rest on the couch if you go get us a blanket to lay under. The baby is napping and we can watch us a movie."

Eddie sighed, nodding his head. "I'll go get one. You better be off that foot and on the couch by the time I get back from the bedroom."

"I just…I feel old knowing they're growing up."

"I just…I feel old knowing they're growing up."
