Recently, I began collecting images from period and costume dramas set during different periods of history between 1500s and the 1970s.  I had no idea that Hollywood actress Bette Davis had appeared in so many costume flicks during her career.  Below are images from some of her films and television appearances:

Empress Carlotta (Juarez) - Bette doesn't get enough love for all the historical roles she's done and this ranks as one of her best! She's the glue that holds the film together and her costumes are simply to die for. All that range of human emotion is a masterclass in itself and she gets to (rightfully) show everyone who wears the crown.

Fanny Trellis Skeffington (Mr. Skeffington) - While she may not be everyone's cup of tea, you can't deny how pretty this woman is through all her eras. Janie Clarkson could never.

Empress Eugénie de Montijo (Juarez) - She's EVERYTHING! The gowns, the jewels, the power, the HUSBAND- Uh, what were we talking about? Oh! My love Eugénie! She kills it early with her manipulation skills (her dynamic with Claude eats as always but here especially!), is stunningly effortlessly awesomely gorgeously beautiful all the time, and is right there to coo about keeping up with court appearances like an absolute boss! I only wish she had more time onscreen because she deserves it! I'm submitting the full movie link so you all can see how much she deserves being Queen (even if she's already an empress!) LOOK at her! LOOK at them together! Especially the second picture eeeeek! :)))

Peggy Lee Stevenson (Strange Holiday) - poor queen doesn't get a lot of screentime unfortunately but i raise you the bread cutting clip! (see attached)
