          ❛ will you allow me an apology? ❜ carl’s words were soft. his gaze fell upon the floor, trying to keep a steady tone. ❛ i lashed out on you, i know     but if someone had to put her down, it HAD to be spencer. i didn’t think you’d understand. ❜

     WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!  CAN’T YOU SEE I’M HALF-BLIND?  I’M CRIPPLED NOW, DAMMIT!

         HOSTILE OR NOT, it’s something that the Asian cannot judge right now, something that makes every second more unbearable. Should he go for the gun or wait?

   OF COURSE, IT was hard for carl to cope with the    fact that he’d lost his remaining parent. he hadn’t    really left the house since it all happened, hadn’t    talked to anyone, hadn’t done anything but sit    in front of one of the windows and look outside,    occasionally with judith sitting on his lap. sure,    he’d cried a few times, but no one but judith knew    that. and who was she going to tell? she could    barely speak, let alone form a sentence.    TWO WEEKS LATER, carl is still in the same    spot he has been, holding his little sister close,    staring blankly out the window. he doesn’t seem    to notice when someone walks up to him, not    even when judith starts cooing and reaching    her hands out to them. he’s just that zoned out,    like he’s not even awake, not alive. the only    indication of him being alive is his breathing,    audible enough to hear if you’re right next to    him.

                   ‘ where do you go when you sneak out? ‘  tara asked, a little curious but mostly worried. she hadn't forgotten what it was like out there, not for a moment. in some ways she was THANKFUL that her job here was to go out and find supplies. it stopped her from forgetting the horrors out there. it’s something she didn’t want to FORGET no matter how much easier it would be if she could. if only they could. she knew that when they first got to alexandria there was a girl that used to sneak out and carl ended up joining her but it was only now that she put two and two together and saw her doing it again. only this time carl was ABSENT. his body lay still and recovering in bed, where tara had been only a few months ago, and enid was again, finding solace on the outside.

              “—-I think we lost ‘em.”
