Sat 23rd Feb - Leaving Swaziland and to Jozini
We left our hotel this morning, passports at the ready. A quick drive past a couple of interesting buildings:
The hexagonal parliament building with a dome, which was opened in 1969 as a post independence gift from the British.
The 20,000 strong stadium, also build around independence time and used for major state occasions

Our next stop was a shopping one - at the world famous Swazi Candle Factory, where we must have all bought! There are a number of other craft shops here as well which are worth a look.
Then a lovely drive through the hills and mountains of this beautiful country; e passed a town called Big Bend, and then stopped for a half hour at a lodge owned by Nisella Safaris. This is a lovely spot for a coffee, and the views and there are residents here too - including the zebra in the picture. This is as close to one that I am going to get!
We entered Kwa-Zulu Natal through the south east border point of Lavunisa and made our way to the beautiful area of Jozini, where we stayed at the Jozini Tiger Lodge - overlooking the Jozini dam and the lagoon. We settled into our rooms after a lovely relaxed lunch and then reassembled for a very leisurly, relaxing boat trip on the lagoon until sunset.
We had our first free day the next day, and whilst some people opted for an optional safari to the Tembe Elephant Park, the rest of us decided to chill out by the lovely pool, in what was our first day of no rain!
And use the lovely spa facilities too.
