Goa to mumbai
We really loved our time in Goa. We stayed a five minute walk from baga beach. We also went to the other nearby town called calangute where we had dinner. The beach here is very beautiful and they try hard to keep it clean which is nice. It’s also a great break to be away from all the traffic and honking. We hung out on some beach chairs for 2 days at a beach restaurant having some day beers. It was really nice to relax and go swimming. We’re still having a hard time with people staring/ pointing and asking for selfies all the time but other than that I think we are starting to adjust a bit to the culture change. One big problem we had was getting ahold of rupees. We were hoping to use credit cards most if the time but unfortunately a lot of places don’t take it. So we spent around 3 hours walking around to banks, ATMs and trying to switch American dollars for a good rate without getting too ripped off. Haha there’s a lot of things to consider here and sometimes doing simple things can take a lot of time and patience. We are now in Mumbai and Jacey is with us now. We are staying at the Shalimar Hotel. Mumbai is a huge metropolis, one of the biggest cities in India and definitely has that big city feel to it. The skyline is huge and would have been amazing to see if it weren’t for the fog and smog that blocks the view! There’s a kite festival on the beach which was cool to see, hundreds of colourful kites were floating around as we drove by. We went to see the hanging gardens just outside of downtown. It’s similar to Central Park in NYC or High Park in Toronto. It was really nice to see the greenery and to go for a walk. After that we headed to fashion street which is known for its clothing stands and some textiles. We also went to cuff parade and cabola causeway which were very busy markets with all different things from shoes to figurines to food. We then went for lunch which was a little tricky to find, especially because we wanted to drink beer and the state of Maharashtra is very strict with alcohol. It is not customary for women to drink in many areas, especially single women and the drinking age in many places is 25. Alcohol is even prohibited in some states. We went to the gateway of India which was built to welcome king George. Right across from there is the Taj Mahal palace hotel. We went for a nice dinner at a place called Soam, which is traditional Indian food. It was good to try some different dishes. After dinner we went to our hotel lounge and met some new people before packing up to go to Jaipur tomorrow. Our stay in Mumbai was short but great!

So I was wondering about the word comfort how it means differently at different times for different people for different reasons . I have really heard this alot like what's your comfort food? I never was able to understand this question. Sometimes when I am hungry anything in the fridge which might help me git rid of hunger will comfort me, sometimes it can be just a piece of chocolate, sometimes sharing my food comforts me , sometimes it can be eating junk , sometimes it can be loads of icecream , sometimes it's a packet of chips . Weather is also something which can be comforting like whenever it rains it makes me really happy the rain washes away all my sorrows and pains. It feels as if nature is comforting me . At times sunny weather gives me the feeling of warmth like a big hug from a loved one . Autumn is the season which comforts me with those cool breezes and what I look upon is end of summer and beginning of winter. Winter too can be comforting with a blanket and a cup of hot coffee and also I feel winter makes me appreciate my home more. Summer can be comforting because of the lovely icecream I get to it . Movies can be comforting , my friends can be comforting, writing in my diary can be comforting. I guess we all have become so busy in our lives that we often tend to ignore these small comforts.
