Sadly, we ended up keeping Smoores up. At one point in the night, Ben upset me greatly and I stormed out. I texted Celeste for advice and she said I should go back and not sleep outside. I still had bad memories of when I had gotten my second degree sun burns from being spiteful, so I returned.
Shawn was gone when we woke up. For most of the day, we'd been lazy. Sarahjane suggest I hangout with Sean more and give him "TLC." Ben was also anxious a bit. I personally, had just wanted a mellow day to unwind internally from all the things that had happened to me in the previous days, as I could still feel all the internal tension from yesterday still lingering in me. But around 5pm, the idea of playing magic with Sean and having a slow personable afternoon with just three of us sounded pleasant so I texted him.
When he texted back, I was greatly surprised. It seemed he was just about to go to Texas Roadhouse with Nick, Laws, Joey, and JP. Whenever they do a big group event like this and don't invite me or last second invite me I'm always a bit personally offended. This was exactly the kind of thing I didn't want to do, but because my pride was hurt I felt obligated to join them.
Ben came along, despite being ehh about going out. He forgot to bring his insulin, and the wait was long (30-40 minutes) for us to get seated so that made me very self conscious that my pride had kinda forced Ben into doing this thing that I didn't completely want to do. However, Ben, a man who loves bread, was awed by the free bread they gave and said it more than made up for the wait.
Laws was exceptional fun to be around that day, and we talked a lot while waiting to get seated about our favorite Christmas film, Tokyo Godfathers. Everyone ordered some kind of meat at the table, but Ben and I just got Booming Onions because it was the cheapest thing that looked good. We had not intended to go to a semi-fancy restaurant and blow 20 dollars on over priced steak. Nick was shocked and declared that I had "Out Nicked him."
At the dinner, Ben had asked if he should download the dub or the sub of Evangelion and I said the dub. Sean took this opportunity to invite himself to watching Evangelion with us. This irked me. A lot. When we got back, Nick, Laws, Joey, and JP had gone to do other stuff so Sean, Ben, I played magic like I had originally intended. The first game was 1v1 and was pretty close, but I eventually grinded him out with demons as he desperately tried to ultimate Jace with Inexorable Tide. After that game, Ben joined. Sean adopted the policy hate as hard as he could on Ben. The final game record was Sean: 0, Dylan: 2, and Ben: 2. In the final game, Ben attacked me with 3 elves and discovered that his one pump spell was enough to kill me given my legion of zombies was tapped out. He called it his "Shits n' Giggles" attack.
Just as Ben won, Laws and Nick came back. We attempted to get Taco Bell, but they were out of everything we wanted so instead we went to McDonnalds. After we got back, Sean and I talked for a bit. Then Sean went to bed. Sean had seemed depressed during the magic games but lightened up a lot when Laws and Nick had returned. I think he had felt a little abandoned. Laws and I played magic there after. He was running child. I played two games with Law's mono Blue deck and won both, then switched to Law's mono white deck and lost both. I feel like that says something about those colors... Anyway, then Ben joined in a 3 player game. I was playing with Law's reanimator deck. I was gonna win, but Laws exiled EVERYTHING. Literally, EVERYTHING including creatures, graveyards, and OUR HANDS AND LANDS. The only thing left on the field was Ben's planeswalker. Ben eventually won. After this, Laws went home.
