TV Tunes With Leslie Vincent is a Diverting Good Time
This addition to the #mnfringe is a welcome distraction in this crazy world

It wasn’t until 15 minutes into watching this show that I had looked down at my notes and realized I hadn’t written anything down. As a theatre reviewer that’s not only bad for business but it’s very high praise of the talents of Leslie Vincent and the allure of her ukulele playing on her front porch. Her and Special Guest Josh Carson turned a simple premise into a very distracting night of entertainment.
Literally it’s the easiest and most honest premise in the world. Leslie sings a cover of a TV theme song accompanied on her ukulele (From Happy Days to Friends and beyond) and Josh lays down some knowledge about the show that we andaybe even Leslie don’t know. Literally it’s not that deep but it’s a winning combination in my heart!
Josh really becomes our handhold and knowledge master throughout the thing. I found myself as a fellow TV geek wanting to compete with him and try to anticipate which trivia he was going to bring out. Even when none of the knowledge was new to me I loved it when I guessed things (like Shark Jumping with Happy Days) and equally loved it when I learned something new (like Frazier Crane’s creates getting paid big bucks). It was a cold addition to have him in the mix and I would hope to see him in the show again.
Leslie is not only a soulful singer she’s using those singing and playing chops to sing songs about our childhood. It’s funny to hear her well trained voice sing something so fun and relaxed. You can tell that she’s a serious musician that likes to keep it fresh and have a good time while she’s playing and make sure we have a good time too.
This was our first real foray out of Zoom and into what Twitch can do. We kinda liked not having to worry about whether we were on video or not and just enjoying the show without having to fix our hair. If you told me that I could set my calendar and go to this cool online platform to watch Leslie do this show next week, count me in! You all should come along too!
