Cran sat next to her daughter on the couch. She was listening to her uncle’s jokes and laughing kindly. Jordan was never the funniest person… but Cloud had manners and knew not to tell him that. Tapping her daughter on the arm to get her attention she braced herself. It was time to tell Cloud about Max.
Cloud: Mom, what is it? I’m listening to Uncle Jordan’s funny stories about Dustin?
Cran: Well Cloud… there’s something I need to tell you…
Cran: Well… I have a birthday present for you!
Cloud: Really?!?! You never bought me one before. That was always Grandma, yeah I knew mom… grandma told me before she died.
Cran: Wah, grr why would mom say that?
Cloud: Sorry, I didn’t tell you. I just liked seeing you look so happy when I opened the present, but what’s this present? Where is it? Can I open it now?
Cran coughed, shaking off her prior shock. Sierra was never one to keep a secret, so it’s not really a surprise that she told Cloud. She was after all her best friend. Blinking she looked down at her child. Clearly she was her fathers daughter… they had very similar features. Cran smiled, finally ready to tell Cloud about Max.
Cran: Well, you can’t really open it because it’s not wrapped!
Cloud: What, really? Where is it then?
