Summary: You loved your boyfriend’s new look so you decided to dye your hair to match with him.
Genre: Fluff, established relationship
Warning: None
Notes: I started writing this when he was blonde, lmaooo. He looked too good, he was bias wrecking me sooo hard during that time, now he’s part of my bias line. 😭
“Hi, baby! I’m home.” Jongwoo called as he entered your shared apartment. “Where are you?”
“Hi, my love. In the bathroom!”
You heard his steps getting closer.
“Did you dye your hair?” He asked when he saw you as you had a plastic bag tied around your head.
The blonde haired hugged you. “Yep!”
“Oh, you didn’t tell me.”
“It was kind of an impulsive decision.” You giggled grabbing his broad shoulders.
“And what color did you choose?”
“It’s a surprise.”
“Okay.” He smiled and kissed your cheek. “Let’s eat, I brought take-out.”
You cheered. “I was starving.”
“I figured.” He laughed.
You walked out of the bathroom and strutted towards the dining table. You took a seat while Jongwoo brought the food.
“Thank you, love.” You smiled gratefully at him.
“No problem, sweets.”
You started talking about your day and about your boyfriend’s comeback.
While he talked, all you could do was stare at him. He was always handsome, he’s truly an attractive man but since he dyed his hair blonde he looked so pretty; it enhanced his features.
“Love?” You heard Jongwoo’s voice, snapping you out of your daydream.
“Yeah?”
“Are you listening?”
“No.” You sheepishly answered. “I’m sorryyy, it’s just, you look sooo good with that hair color. It’s distracting.”
“Oh, is it distracting my baby?” He smirked and start tickling your sides.
“Jongwooo, stop.” You plead while laughing, which made him laugh with you.
You squirmed for a few seconds until he stopped, giving you a tender kiss on the cheek. Making you go red.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.”
You finished eating and laid down together on the couch for a while, until an alarm went off.
“Oh, that’s mine. I’ll be right back, love.” You gave him a tender kiss on the lips and got up, walking directly to the bathroom and closing the door.
You removed the plastic bag and your clothes, placing them on the laundry basket. You took a quick shower, brushed your hair and dried it with the blowdryer, admiring your new look.
Satisfied, you exited the room and came back to the living room.
“Woo? Close your eyes.”
“You’re finally showing me?”
“Yep.” You stood in front of the coach.
“You can open them.”
Your boyfriend looked at you with a big smile, he couldn’t stop staring.
“You look gorgeous, baby.” He stood up and hug you by the waist.
“Thank you, love. I wanted to match with you.” Your hair was blonde with blue streaks.
(in which you realize your true feelings after your breakup ๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) : 1507 words : gn!reader + angst + fluff + second chance : love, so confusing. i think i like this, hope you do to. feel free to share thoughts, thanks for reading !!
Escaping you was impossible, no matter how hard he tried it felt like the roads always led back to you. He could go minutes without thinking about you before his eyes would land on something that would bring back once lived moments by your side.
Whether it was a leaf drifting in the wind or the wrapper of a bag of chips in the bin, somehow you were always there. You never came alone always carrying along that painful sting he felt in his chest.
It was hard to say where things went wrong with you, though you would probably see it differently, he only ever felt love for you.
“Your fingers are so messy.” He took your hand out of the bag of flavored chips, your fingertips painted in a orangish color from the multitude of crumbs.
You looked up at him from your spot in his arms, your head resting against his chest. He could feel your fingers itching to find their way back in the aluminum bag, the light frown on your face reflecting the same resistance.
“Stay still, I’ll clean it up for you.”
“No that’s the best part!” you cried as his lips pressed on your fingers, the feeling of his wet tongue on your fingertips bringing you to a quiet laughter.
His lips curved up in a soft smile as he planted kiss on each of your fingers, wiping them clean from the messy snack.
The moment his grip on your hand relaxed, you pulled your fingers away from his hand. You smiled at the shock on his face as you put your arm around his neck pulling him in closer, leaning into his lips covered in the remaining crumbs. His lips tasted exactly like your favorite snack, and the more you kissed him the more you got lost in his taste.
Once his hand found its place on your neck, the chips were discarded, and his body naturally became the object of desire.
Then came all the tears, the screaming, the fighting, and thinking it would be another thing you would get through together. Now it had been three months, the only time he saw you was late at night whenever he was alone with his thoughts, and on early mornings waking up hoping that you had found your way back to him and it was all just a bad dream.
It took everything in him to not pull you into a hug the moment he noticed you across from him, he wanted you to rest there in his arms as you did so often once upon a time, but instead he stood there holding onto his hands, fearing they might move on their own.
You cleared your throat looking up at him, you could only bare to look at him a few seconds before your gaze diverted to the pile of documents on his desk, the worry started bubbling up again. You watched his hands move around each other before he lifted one of them, guiding you to a quieter spot to address your sudden visit.
Being honest with yourself, you didn’t know why you were here, how you ended up here after weeks of avoiding this neighborhood. However seeing him—after those few months of nothing— felt reassuring, like just the knowledge of his existence was enough for you, but it wasn’t.
Things were different for you when you were together, you always felt like you couldn’t give him as much as he gave you. His love for you was so flagrant that anything you did felt worthless. Could you not love him more? Was it him or was it you? How much is enough?
So many questions swarmed your mind as things started to concretize themselves in your relationship. Thoughts of a big house in the suburbs, how many loans are enough to assure your happiness, it was funny to think about at first.
He made you smile, that was one of the first things that came to mind when you started doubting yourself. As you leaned against the counter, watching him in the other room, you could see in each of his movements something that you had once fell in love with.
“I think this one’s good.” He looked over to you on the other side of the display. The mattress looked comfy enough, you thought as you walked over watching him lean back resting his weight on his hands.
“You look good in it.” You joked as you stood infront of him sitting on the soft queen sized bed. He let out a quiet laugh under his bright smile, reaching out for your arm to pull you closer.
He wrapped his hands around your waist as you stood in front of him, resting his head on your chest. You let yourself get lost in the warmth he brought, running your fingers gently through his messy hair.
“I wish we could skip this struggling young couple part, I want this life with you. Big house, nice neighborhood, three kids.” He lifted his head up to look at you as he shared his fantasies. He always had this glimmer in his eyes when he talked about your future together, and his smile would tie it all together.
He didn’t have to use words to explain how he felt about you, in moments like that it was so clear. That love he had for you made you feel so secure in the relationship that you had built because you could feel his sincerity, but it was also what made you question yours.
There was no doubt in your heart that you loved him, but as you moved further into your relationship, you started noticing the disproportions.
You tried to give as much as you took, but it felt superficial, like you were only trying to prove something to yourself. The doubts you had only continued to grow until they took over every moment you spent together.
Finally you decided to let him go, giving him a generic excuse about time and place. You couldn’t tell him the truth, you couldn’t look at him and say that you couldn’t promise him eternity because you were scared of loving anything that much.
Despite running from that confrontation all those months ago, you now sat in front of him at his workplace that you willingly came to.
He didn’t know how to look at you, you could see it in the way his eyes bounced back and forth between random objects in the room and your eyes. You didn’t know where to start either, you weren’t sure if he hated you yet or if this would be that moment when he would.
“Sorry for coming unannounced, I just didn’t want to waste more time.” You said quietly with a soft smile.
At the sound of your words, you noticed his eyebrows flinch for a second, in that short moment you managed to second guess yourself a thousand times feeling all the regret start settling in.
“I know it’s sudden, but I’ve been regretting a lot of things recently, and I wanted to do something I wouldn’t regret for once.” You tried to focus on the words you wanted to say instead of the ways he could react to them and you continued.
“I’m sorry firstly…” Once you pronounce those words every other sentence seemed to flow out easily, you explained your feelings, thoughts and all the confusion you had.
Most of all, you wanted him to know that you were the one who was confused, you were the one who was scared, the one who couldn’t face the truth, and that he never did anything wrong.
“I don’t know why it was so difficult for me then to admit that I did love you, so much more than I could contain.” You could feel your throat closing in as you tried your best to push out your bottled up feelings, “I wish I wasn’t scared because now I just have all this love and nowhere to place it.”
Your hands shielded your face from his kind eyes, filled with worry as the tears started pouring. You couldn’t bear to look at him after being so honest, but he wouldn’t let you off so easily.
A light gasp escaped your lips, it was only his fingertips grazing your skin, but the air stayed stuck there in your chest. His hand wrapped gently around your wrist, shifting up to your hand that covered your face. You couldn’t resist as he pulled your hand away revealing your tear-painted face.
“I wish you would have talked to me. I wouldn’t have hated you the same way I don’t hate you now.” He reached for your cheek, wiping off the tears with his thumb.
His touch was just as delicate as in your memories, through your teary eyes you watched him dry your tears away.
“I thought I might need some time to think this through, but seeing you like this I just want to hold you.”
