JONAH OLSON DAY @jonerzz I believe there were some misunderstandings on the story in my feature on artist, Jonah Olson yesterday. What I was hoping to come across was a story about a lifelong friendship I have with a very complicated dude. I was hoping the story would show how much I care about him and how nice it was to come to an understanding with someone I admire and respect. In no way did I mean my piece to be an attack on his character. I simply wanted to write about how 2 friends so consumed in their work can see situations different. Now I realize it could have certainly used an editor to help me craft my point to get across. The truth is, I've adored Jonah since I've met him and I think he is brilliant, driven, fun & great dude. Since I was a kid I've documented my friendship with him and drawn him in my comics or written major parts for him to play in my animated films. This is because I respect him and love his rascally character. I too have a little of that, and that's why maybe we both feel a little too comfortable to rip on each-other, I don't think either of us mean each other harm. I think we both love each other very much. Nobody else in my creative world of friends has impressed me as much as Jonah, he has done so many different things with so many different people, he loves to dance, he loves to rock out, he loves nature, he loves maps, he wants to be a family man and he wants to work on his art. His art is beautiful. In fact me and a friend were discussing it last night over beers. It's emotional, and up close it may seem abstract but from afar the composition is beautiful and engaging. I have also seen him draw portraits that are quite stunning. I hope some day he will do more of them. Anyways, this is an intro.
