• the huge problem that happens in honeycomb that they have to solve is when 10 tries to bring broderick back and in the surge of fairytale magic he's collected to do so, the forest grows & grows & grows and overtakes honeycomb, and they have to figure out how to push it back and take their town back AFTER going through a little bit of nightmare hell you're back in the forest moments
• declan realized they were a tower by repeatedly venturing into the forest after escaping to grab things for 10, and ended up learning how to talk the forest itself into changing and helping them out
• elegy & poppet are kind of the court jesters to the forest itself. silly weird towers who have chosen to stay instead of leave, and know precisely how to mix the magic to their advantage
• when people die in honeycomb to normal circumstances and not the forest, they're buried at the forest's edge
• the grocery used to be owned by the researcher's sister. when she passed on, it was given to her daughter, who sold it to declan when she got too overworked. they've transformed it a lot but the connection remains
