I live in the Florida Keys, I could probably make a killing by selling half-sized yard sticks to fishermen. 18 inches long, half an inch wide, but still marked with 36 inches so their catches appear twice as big on camera. I'm sure this has been done, but I doubt some tourist novelty company would put in the thought and effort to make it half-scale in all dimensions; if they wanted to make it cheap, they'd take a regular sized foot ruler and give it ticks every 1/3 inch, they wouldn't bother making it thinner, just shorter. Me, I understand proportions, I put thought and effort into my kitsch
