Bar Redux Presents John Underwood// Aurelea River John Underwood is a solo multi-instrumentalist from Reno, NV. My solo setup is unique because I surround myself with 8 instruments(trumpet, trombone, banjo, guitar, accordion, bass, glockenspiel and drums) that I run into a loop pedal to create a full folk/gypsy/pirate band right in front of the audience, layer by layer. Aurelea River - is a singer-songwriter who creates haunting, densely-chorded melodies on her hybrid electric violin-viola, Lola. Her touchstones are Appalachian folk, traditional murder ballads, and tales of monsters and ghosts.She uses a variety of distortion pedals and effects to warp the violin's sound, but always keeps a low, lush drone.
