#johnny redesign

I need to rant about my design because I'm insane and the brain worms have corrupted me.

So firstly, in my design, Johnny has essential tremors. Shaky hands most of the day. His mama has em too. He has splints to help with common sprains and the like.

I based the design on this metal one I saw because the weight helps with the shaking and the style goes along with the overall original design.

As for his cane, Johnny Splash is leaning on something often. In my hc the cane would act the same way a bar in an elderly shower would where it's there for support if needed.

My design for it changed but I did settle on jewel set water drops as a common motif.

My overall design is referenced from the original art and brilliant VA, Robbie Daymond but I use heavy inspiration from Louis Garrel who is my fancast for Johnny in general! And general 50s-60s swing rock artists, Johnny Cash and Elvis references.

Because yeah... this beautiful French man IIIIS how I see Johnny.

Everything else is me having fun with different art styles and seeing how he would look with different time periods like here's the 70s!

A refined version the redesign used for Squall the Shark A.K.A Johnny in Sonic Thunderstorm. Shown without shading & lighting and with shading & lighting.

For Johnny/Squall's reimagining the prevailing change was him being altered to be a Mobian Shortfin Mako Shark since manipulation of Order Energy, the Chaos Energy of the Sol/Order Dimension, is more prominent then technology.

To retain respect to the official design Johnny/Squall has armor that bears a resemblance to the official art which is partially displayed in the third.
