@fallestoā Johhnie asked: Murder
THE NEW WORLD ORDER. The world was DEAD. Everything that had ever mattered, everything that people held close to their HEARTS ā all of it was GONE. The world had been flipped upside down and society had CRUMBLED. Nothing mattered anymore except for one thing ā SURVIVAL. The only rule now that everyone followed, the only law that mattered, SURVIVAL at any COST, no matter what. This was the world now. It was NICE, it was SIMPLE, it was FUN, it was PERFECT. A world without any RULES, a world where it was KILLED or be KILLED ā a world of DEATH and DECAY. A world where only the best of the best, the strongest of the strong where fit to call it home. It was an APOCALYPSE and he had a front row seat to it.
āAnd one more for the road āā The CROWBAR came down on the back of the skull, and AGAIN, and AGAIN. OVER and OVER ā as he lifted it up into the air, the CRIMSON dripping down on his back as he brought it up and then down, OVER and OVER ā HARDER and HARDER, FASTER and FASTER until only a PUDDLE remained. āI already said no āā
Another SURVIVOR, another lost SOUL trying to find SALVATION, trying to SURVIVE in a world that wanted you DEAD. Gotham was a WASTELAND ā but it was HIS. It always had been ā it always would be, even the end of the world would not change that. The CROWBAR was wedged in nice and tight in the CRACKED remains of what was once a head. His boot would be pressed down hard on the back of the CORPSE as he would tug it several times, trying to wriggle it free as the bones CRACKED, the flesh RIPPED as he yanked the CROWBAR right out of the head as his head turned ā seemed he had MISCOUNTED his VISITORS, there was ONE more lurking in the DARKNESS.
āCome out, come out ā I donāt bite ā much. You came all this way for what? Salvation ā there is no saving us anymore ā this is what we are inside ā and I wanna see what you look like inside.ā
Johnnie had always known one day he would have gone too far, pushed the envelope of society until it burst at the seams. If she was being honest with herself, she expected to be swept away, she always stood so close to the bomb, it was what had thrilled her back in the day. The glitz and glam of her old world had been traded for the underworld she had learned to thrive it. It turned to be fortuitous, many hadnāt learned that way of life, and Johnnie had little interest in letting anyone learn.Ā
She had been left alone for the most part, reputation had saved her more times than what she would have liked to admit, although their hesitation in the end had been detrimental to their way of life. Above all else, she had survived, making her way to reported safer territories, she had thought it might have started to get better, there were less and less people looking for a fight, giving up what little possessions they had in the hopes of seeing just one more day.Ā
Now as she heard the all too familiar voice, she realised she had wandered right back to where she had started, the bomb was ticking again, and she wasnāt about to have all her work blow up in her face, again.Ā
āNow now, itās not the first time youāve asked that, and it wonāt be the first time I let you either.ā Johnnie said, her fingers deftly juggled a butterfly blade, a gun tucked into the back of her waistband, all precautions of course.Ā
āHowās it goin, boss man?āĀ
