John turned the giant lollipop around over and over again in his hands. Over the years he’s been through a lot of strange things, but finding a giant lollipop on his planet while he was on a date? Well that just tops the cake. “What do you think it is?” he questioned Aranea who’s knowledge had yet to let him down. She shrugged, which was more surprising than the lollipop. “Don’t tell me you don’t know?” his girlfriend had millenniums worth of information but she couldn’t explain this lollipop? “Give me a break I don’t know everything. Just most of everything.” she countered. He stared at it again. Green and red swirled it seemed perfectly harmless. Delicious even. “Hey Aranea if I lick this will you lick it as well?” at first she seemed apprehensive but the glossy lollipop did seem quite good. With a shrug they both leaned in and licked in. It happened so quick that at first they didn’t realize what was happening, one minute they were examining a lollipop the next cherry syrup was flowing through their veins. John giggled-actually giggled- as he examined his amaaaaaazing outfit! He looked so cute! And so did Aranea. She was happy and cute and his bestest girlfriend! “Joooohhnnny! Guess what guess what? I’m just soo happy right now! AND LOOK! I can fly just like you!” The sugar-hyped candy-colored troll began somersaulting through the air. John floated up to meet her. Weee! Up he went! Wanting to show off he flew into her much harder than expected. They crashed into each other, both tumbling down to the ground. For a second John felt guilty, like he shouldn’t have done that, like he should say sorry. But the thoughts went away with a fit of giggles. “Come on Aranea get up! We have to go play!” he complained. But she didn’t move. She lay there, eyes closed and breathing slight and troubled. He got up from on top of her and shook her shoulder. “Sweetie? Pumpkin? Waaakkee uuuuuup!”

She didn’t.

For a second he felt like panicking or crying or both. But that too passed. He shrugged his shoulders and floated away. If she didn’t want to play then he’d go find Rose or Dave or Jade. With one last look over his shoulder he grabbed that lollipop and flew away.
