Exclusive, and probably never before-seen, behind the scenes images of the sculpting process on Philippe Mora's Howling III: The Marsupials (1987)!!
These photos show just how much talent was involved on Bob McCarron's crew; the photos were kindly provided to me by John Cox (who won an Oscar for his work on George Miller's Babe), with Belnda Villani and Vivienne MacGillicuddy present in these photos. Villani would later work as sculptor on The Matrix trilogy, and MacGillicuddy did prosthetic makeups on the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
All in all I woud again like to thank John Cox for sending me these, and helping more people see the work put in an, in my opinion, very underrated werewolf film!

Since the nearly unknown ex step-father was brought up...do you remember this article? It's so...telling...how this man was..what seems like intentionally erased...from Harry's origin story. If this is factual it's quite sad.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/harry-styles-estranged-stepdad-pain-8281939.amp#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=17265919576729&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com
Yeah, I remember the article. It's really hard to know his motives, given that he's saying all of this at a time when Harry was world-famous, but I assume Harry was close to him for a time. I do find it very weird that he barely mentions Gemma (although, of course, Harry is the draw for the people reading the article).
I think it's obvious why the XFactor erased John Cox from the narrative. But I can't see why they would have forbidden Harry from having contact with him privately. I don't know. It doesn't entirely add up. But, if Harry was indeed still close to him, I do hope they've reunited.
Lawrence of Arabia premiered in London on 10 December 1962, before wider release 6 days later.
A film about the life of T.E. Lawrence had been in the works since the 1940s (Lawrence had died in 1935), with David Lean approached in 1952 but the projects fell through.
Producer Sam Spiegel (who had worked with Lean on 1957â˛s The Bridge on the River Kwai) secured the rights to Lawrenceâs Seven Pillars of Wisdom and hired Michael Wilson (who had co-written Bridge with Carl Foreman - both were blacklisted at the time and did not receive credit until 1984) to adapt it for the screen. Lean was unhappy with Wilsonâs screenplay and hired Robert Bolt to rewrite it.
The original release of the film was 222 minutes, making it the longest movie to win Best Picture (it is one minute longer than Gone with the Wind). It was cut by 20 minutes for a January 1963 release.
Despite itâs historical failings and inaccuracies, Lawrence of Arabia was an enormous commercial and critical success. It was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Actor (Peter OâToole), Best Supporting Actor (Omar Sharif), and Best Screenplay.
The film received Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography - Color (Freddie Young), Best Editing (Anne V. Coates), Best Score (Maurice Jarre), and Best Sound (John Cox).

Whatâs your theory on Anne and kids living above the pub and then her marrying Robin? I saw your post from way back with sad Harry after the MSG concert. I agree with everything you said.
The years Harry lived above a pub have been talked about, but itâs often glossed over. I think it was retconned out of the official narrative because it wasnât particularly posh and, therefore, didnât fit with Harryâs image.
In short, Anne and Des divorced in 2001. In 2003, Anne married John Cox and moved into the Antrobus Arms along with Harry and Gemma. The marriage itself seems to have only lasted until 2004, but they continued to cohabitate for years after that.
Here is the article from 2003 announcing their marriage.
A picture of the wedding:
These are, to my knowledge, some of the oldest photos we have of Harry and Robin:
But we also have this picture of Harry in the kitchen of the Antrobus Arms when he was clearly much older:
Basically, I think Anne and John ended their relationship and divorced legally but continued to live together for financial reasons.
Fans first found out about this when an interview with Des mentioned it in 2012: âHarryâs mum remarried and moved with her new husband into a pub, which Des says he didnât approve of â but heâs full of support for her new man Robin.â
And also from this article, in which a family friend says Harry is buying his mom a house because âStyles and his mom didn't have the easiest time. âAnne's struggled with two divorces and being a single mother.ââ
Harry also talked about this in 2012, but the interview remained unpublished until 2020.
I lived with both parents, and then moved with my mum, and we owned a pub for, like, five years. I remember the first night, it was like a night where a band was playing, and I just thought, âHow am I going to get to sleep?â I was three stories up, I was like, âHow am I going to get to sleep with this noise?â I was next to a road in Sussex, in the middle of nowhere, and by the end, I could fall asleep next to the band, I was so used to the noise.
However, Harry continued to visit the Antrobus Arms pretty regularly well into 2015. He also hosted holiday parties there.
For the Another Man photoshoot, Harry cut his hair in the kitchen of the pub which I thought was a really interesting (and perhaps symbolic) artistic decision.
John Cox told (sold?) his piece to The Mirror in 2016.
Here is an older post of mine on this subject.
Fact check: Donald Trump falsely claims California recall election is âriggedâ for Gavin Newsom
Background
In 2018, Californians elected Democrat Gavin Newsom as their new governor in a landslide, with a record high number of almost eight million votes in his favor. He won 62% of the vote, the biggest victory in a gubernatorial race in California since 1950 and the biggest victory for a non-incumbent since 1930.
Balance of Power
Since the 2020 election, Democrats have held a razor-thin majority in the U.S. Senate. The chamber is split evenly, 50-50, but in the event of a tie Vice President Kamala Harris casts the deciding vote. A loss of even one single Democratic Senator, however, would shift the balance of power back to the Republicans and reinstate Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader.
The oldest sitting senator is California Democrat Dianne Feinstein. She is 88. In California, when a U.S. senator retires or is otherwise unable to continue serving, the governor unilaterally selects a replacement, with no input from the voters or the legislature.
Recall Election
Coincidentally, this year Republicans have mounted a campaign to recall Gov. Newsom. Prominent Republicans nationwide, who have nothing to do with California, have nevertheless been vocal proponents of the recall. They hope to replace Newsom with a Republican--any Republican--who will appoint a Republican Senator to replace Feinstein should a replacement become necessary.
The recall election is today.
