September 1970: Levitation Published in TV Comic Annual 1971 TARDIS Data Core entry
The Doctor discovers that levitating himself is actually pretty simple, and he plays around with it long enough to catch a spy. Enjoy it while you can, because you won't see it again until Castrovalva, I think.
Home made covers for a collection of 1970s' comic scans of the Third Doctor. From his regeneration the Doctor appears in TV Comic between issues 944-999 plus holiday specials and annuals. From the start of Countdown (later TV Action) between 1971-1973 he was drawn with superior art by Harry Lindfield and Gerry Haylock, who continued in TV Comic until early Tom Baker strips and was replaced by John Canning once more. The third Doctor appeared in a couple of strips in Doctor Who Magazine and Tenth Doctor IDW comics but has more recently had a 5 part adventure in Titan Comics (2016)
During their visit to the planet Gemino, the Doctor, John and Gillian encountered a fire breathing dragon guarding the Vault of Plenty (Roger Noel Cook, John Canning, "The Secret of Gemino", TV Comic 753-757, 1966).
In 2012, John and Frances Canning invited the Queen of England to their wedding as a joke and she showed up.Β -source

June 13 - July 11, 1970 - The Fishmen of Carpantha Published in TV Comic 965-969 TARDIS Data Core entry
The Doctor takes part in a test for a new depth charge and HEY! IT'S LIZ! She may be finishing up her run on the TV show, but she's just getting started here in the comics. She gets to be involved in more of the adventure than The Brig, and she even conspires with The Doctor to keep the secret of the titular Fishmen from UNIT when the story ends.
Well, that's just nice.
August 3-24, 1968: The Jokers Published in TV Comic 868-871 TARDIS Data Core entry
Dr Who and crew land on the planet Comedy, populated by a bunch of Jokers! Hey, this sounds like fun! And it would be, except that these Jokers of Comedy have a terrible violent sense of humor. Like the guys from Jackass. (Frankly, this is an incredible premise.)
March 2-23, 1968: The Sabre-Toothed Gorillas Published in TV Comic 846-849 TARDIS Data Core entry
So there are these ... gorillas, right? Big teeth and all. No real explanation for them, but there they are. This is another planet. All you need to know.
What we DO have is a kooky scientist who has invented Flubber, only he calls it "Squidge". And he's been doing kooky scientific experiments with it in a laboratory built inside a cliff face. Like you do.
Note that when I say "scientific", I mean that they involve trampolines and juggling.
Anyway, Dr Who and friends (including the silly scientist) manage a daring escape to the TARDIS, and they get away. The scientist will probably have to reinvent Squidge, as his laboratory is now being torn apart by a rampaging mob of ...
SABRE-TOOTHED GORILLAS!
