Joel/Tommy thoughts are swirling around in my brain....

Joel kissing every grey hair and whisker he can find; Tommy thinks he's just being Joel and kissing all over his face like how he used to to get Tommy to calm down, but Tommy's not freaking out or even slightly anxious, so he pulls his face just out of Joel's reach and chuckles while he asks, "the hell are you doin'?"

And Joel gives him a look, eyes soft and sad and pleading, his voice is wet and choked as he replies, "pausin' time." cause he can't live with himself if he lets all the new greys he never got to see slowly appear go unkissed, unloved, unwanted. He can't let Tommy think he doesn't regret letting him leave, or that he adores Tommy any less because his age is starting to show…
