One thing I like about both Sonic and Mega Man books is that they’re mostly consistant in the art! We got Tracy Yardley and Matt Herms to give us a taste of how exactly Sonic got wrecked by the Deadly Six, and I enjoy that its a dimension-hopping battle taking place in multiple different locations; it really gives the vibe of a fighting game spectacle, which the ending text seems to indicate too. The Deadly Six in these Worlds Unite Battles certainly have more personality and the opportunity to say more than two lines, so that’s neat.
I also enjoy the idea that this is a Sonic who hasn’t yet landed on Lost Hex and met the Zeti yet, so of course he’s gonna be taken by surprise when three of them come at him at once with their weird robot-control powers. Its a pretty brutal way to go out though. Writer Joel Enos has our blue boi become overwhelmed by Badnik corpses and then be suffocated into unconiousness!
