Regarding CC and My Builds
After looking over the rooms in the build I will be posting a build tour for later today it has come to my attention that I use way, far too much CC in my builds. This is a good and a bad thing,. Good because the builds look awesome, bad because of what comes next. As a result I’m going to have to make a policy change regarding my future build tours.
In the past I’ve always striven to give credit to each and every custom content creator whose work I used in my builds. The thing is though, with simpler builds that can result in spending the better part of an hour or two trying to hunt down links for all the CC. Looking at this latest build; I have one room (the main room) that has over 40 different pieces of CC in it by nearly as many different creators, and that is in just one of the eight rooms in this build. I simply cannot see the point anymore in creating a list that is four to five times longer than the actual post talking about the build and what inspired it.
As much as I deeply appreciate and wish to credit people for their work, the task of doing so has become unwieldy, and I’d rather spend that time doing new builds, creating sims and posting pictures for everyone to enjoy. I just can’t keep doing what I’ve been doing.
Personally, I would rather have the content creators themselves reblog the photo sets I create and add something along the lines of. “Hey, that’s my wall”, “Thats my dish set”, “That’s my furniture” etc. To me that seems like a much better venue for showing off your work than me simply mentioning your work in a blurb and providing a link to it.
There are a few content creators that I feature pretty heavily in my builds. If you’ve seen more than one of my build tours you already know who they are without me having to keep mentioning them by name. If I feel a build could not have come to fruition without the help of a specific CC creator then I will mention them by name in the post and share a link to their tumblr page if they have one.
I know this decision will probably inevitably make some people unhappy, but I really can’t see any other way around the issue. There is much I want to do, but I only have so many hours in a day to do so, so it’s my sincerest hope you’ll all understand why I’ve come to this decision.
If you really want to know the source of a specific piece of CC that you see in one of my build tours chances are I’ve posted it elsewhere in my blog already or you can simply send me a “WCIF” request and I’ll do my best to source it for you. Thank you all for understanding, and to all you CC creators, I love each and every one of you.
Have fun ;)!
