Issues I have with the EP 8
k first of all i loved it it was amazing so many emotions but
1. kevin x joaquain is the only gay representation (barely) on this show and it is so unhealthy what? like they say how theres no one for kevin as he's the only openly gay character. and then he meets someone but they're never discussed or shown or anything (like it was never even revealed if they kept seeing each other)Â and then like 5 episodes later he comes back in passing and they have like .2 seconds of screen time together as a plot convenience and then at the end of the episode turns out the whole relationship is meaningless, using kevin for his dad! and its like kevin having feelings for a guy is unimportant and irrelevant! and compare this to how much screen time each straight relationship has had. betty and jughead (k i love them omg just an example) had a longer kiss this episode than kevin and joaquain have had together total.
the message I'm getting here from this only (barely) gay relationship is 1. you'll never find someone if you're gay 2. and when you do its irrelevant and doesn't deserve any depth or time  3. find out its unhealthy and abusive and 4. any feelings can be disregarded
2. how the dealt with abortion? they treated it as if it was some horrible thing that should never be discussed or said. i think Hal was right to offer it - she wasn’t ready as a teenager so it should be a legitimate option. Looking more into depth I think the reason Betty and Alice were so upset was because it seems he didn't giver her a choice (booked it without her knowing) and then it seems like he forced an abortion on Alice when they were younger. Like that’s more understandable as it is no place for a man to make a decision for an abortion - it is 100% the pregnant person’s choice. But they way they presented the whole thing was as if abortion was a horrible, inexcusable option to the point they couldn't even say it.
