Hubert might complain at first but dedue knows what his favorite flavors are and starts incorporating them into all of his dishes. Since Hubert seems to have more of an analytical mind I could see him potentially getting in to architecture and designing enchanted fountains or other more "practical" art pieces to put in the empire gardens & courtyards & his and dedue's personal garden ;w; he'd have an eye for where exactly theyll look best amongst the flower arrangements dedue has set up :') [2]

I like to think Hubert might complain a bit at first about Dedue using him as a guinea pig for new recipes so often, but he doesn't really mind all that much. (Eventually this leads to a point where Hubert somewhat openly - because this man still struggles with his emotions and being open with anybody on the daily - admits that he enjoys spending time with Dedue like this. Dedue is just happy to see the small smiles his cooking can sometimes put on Hubert's face.)

THE ARCHITECTURE THING THOUGH!! IMAGINE one day Dedue goes to the gardens, and finds a new statue that wasn't there before! And at first he's confused, but it isn't too in-the-way, and it does look rather nice, so he doesn't say much about it and carries on. The following week, another statue appaears. And a small fountain the week after that (one that Dedue can easily refill his watering can from, should he need to). That isn't even mentioning the slow increase of sculptures in the Imperial gardens!

And when Dedue eventually asks Hubert about it, because there's no way they could have just been put up with Hubert not noticing, Hubert simply coughs into his hand.

"You were the one to say I needed more hobbies, weren't you? I thought I may as well add to the gardens, albeit very differently from you." He says, his cheeks a light pink.
