I’ve been breaking the mold recently, going out of my comfort zone and all. A week or so ago, I went up to New York to take a proofreader’s assessment for a publishing company, and I spent most of the afternoon in the city. By myself. Which is an incredible feat, if I do say so myself.

I have yet to hear back from them about the position, but I’ve got my fingers crossed!

I did spend a considerable amount of time at The Strand Bookstore, and let me tell you how beautiful that place is. If I could just live there forever, I would.

On the 2nd, I went over to Philly with good friend and travel buddy JMTuckerman for a marketing for writer’s conference presented by the Corzo Center. We were so soggy by the time we finished our walk to the Free Library of Philadelphia.

We even took some pictures with Leo and Leona!

It’s also officially Camp NaNoWriMo, and I’m definitely using that as a fire under my butt to get some writing done on this latest project of mine, so wish me luck!

Well, sort of. I am moving better, but my back is still in pain and stiff as a log. The swelling has gone down enough that I don’t ice it every day, but now the pain is pretty central and it has made sitting very difficult. I’m tired of laying on the couch. That’s pretty much all I’ve done for the past week. I’m going out today to get some craft supplies so that I can at least be occupied…

Ah sweet, warm, and comfy bed. It feels like such a comfort to be in bed as my week ends. I mean, more so than usual. As some people know, a friend of mine passed away suddenly from a heart attack recently and I (and my friends and some family) are still dealing with that grief. On top of that, I am working through a sinus infection which is making me feel like my head might implode… or explode……
