DMITRI doesn't really realize consciously that he is not a cishet man.
JM as i said realized around 17-18, around when they left their father and ended up recruited by idris and elijah.

MACKENZIE realized she liked more than men as soon as she met cass and developed a crush on them, which happened shortly after the funeral of mack's mother. she realized she was polyamorous a few years later; it was a combined journey of discovery with cass as they figured out jm's place in their lives.
*coffee shop au: i think meeting cass is a turning point in mackenzie's life still. idk how mack's mom dies in this verse but perhaps there's still some connection and a means of meeting cass that helps mack realize she isn't just ~christian guy's daughter.

DMITRI doesn't fucking get any of that and has probably tried to figure out ways to do crime during pride month. he hates the forced capitalist aspects as well.
JM really enjoys pride month, especially after knight.
