The Wife Comes First is a delight!
One thing I like is jing shao building a better relationship with his brother.
He's alive! And they're alive! And he gets a second chance to do things better!! And it's the best feeling in the world!!!

TO HEAR ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE READING IT! i check the tags constantly looking for others#the wife comes first#qi wei shang#jing shao#mu hanzhang#jing chen#my art#the dynamic is honestly so enchanting to me#this is a man who lived largely through spite and anger for a long time it seems#he was not thoughtful about who he trusted or showed affection to#to some extent it must have been towards people that flattered his own ego#he was offended to be married off to a male wife and therefore denied any chance for the throne#it was a nasty move to pull on him#mu hanzhang is upset because of very similar issues with his own position#but instead of processing that upset he reacts impulsively and emotionally and directs that anger towards mu hanzhang#he also directs it towards his older brother who CAN still inherit and who scolds him#despite the fact that this is a sign that his brother actually CARES enough about him to try to take care of him#instead he turns to people who flatter him and who he can use to spite the targets of his anger#are they people who care about him? look out for his best interests? are trustworthy? no. and he pays for that.#now he has a chance to actually get over his anger and SEE the care that people in his life were trying to give him and which he totally#blinded himself to#one source being mu hanzhang#but the other! being his big brother! who genuinely loves him and wants him to do well!! and i just love it so much ;^;#good big sibling trying to take care of their little sibling... even if it doesn't come across perfectly... it's so important to me#and now they get to scheme together ¬‿¬ ✧
