Based on the movie (October 7, 1988) and following the pilot TV movie (September 18, 1989), the first regular episode of the Alien Nation tv show aired on September 25, 1989. The episode took place during September 1995. The series followed the lives of aliens and humans trying to co-exist, featuring human cop Matthew Sikes ( Gary Graham) and his new alien partner, George Francisco (Eric Pierpoint).
