Gotta give it to the actors for this costume drama, well done and great chemistry on and off screen from the looks of the BTS scenes that were shot last year showing how fun and hard it is to film such scenes yet they joke around during filming. 40 eps doesnt seem like it was enough though felt it could have gone maybe a few more eps some wat to maybe the amount of eps Eternal Love of Dreams had but they ended it well not so depressing. Ju Jing Yi and Zeng Shun Xi as both Princess Baoning and Li Qian worked well together, there love had some ups and downs but it still prevailed at the end even with love rivals getting in the way which was a bit to much lol.

Li Qian was instantly likeable in the first ep, something about a man who has martial arts skills and charm also his eyes in certain scenes. Zeng Shun Xi (Joseph Zeng) has that sense of fitting in and being charming also doing some great stunt work even if it wasn't all him he captured it well. Li QIan had his fair share of being a wounded man but still came outbrave and tough, the emotional scenes more towards the end brought tears to my eyes seeing him torn between a old family grudge between his family and the reveal that the woman he loved was in the middle of it was hard to watch, Baoming had no clue that her own family was behind the demise of his mothers/ Li village slaughter years ago. Li Qian feelings and sadness to blame it on her was tough that it strained their relationship but he still fought to keep them together even when his father was in the way. His father on the other hand shouldnt had to be such a jerk, he didnt even really think it through as soon as he heard that Baonings father was the one behind the Li VIllage being destroyed he put the blame on her and tried to end their marriage which was going a bit overboard even if his dad had the power it was more up to Qian and Baoning to sign the papers which Qian didnt want to do because he never hated her he just felt torn with learning the truth which wasn't the real truth just a word coming from someone saying it was her father who killed ppl and somehow forgot to really look into the claim but Baoning figured it out and both apologized

Jiang Bao Ning / Princess Jia Nan gurl is smart loves being crafty when it comes to making things. She also got some feistiness when it comes to defending those she loves close to her. I think her outfits were stunning but the headpieces seemed a bit too much in some scenes. I like her more natural hair than being adorned with such fancy things. I get it because she's a princess and all but they overdid it with all those fancy head garments. Felt that she shouldn't have to really wear it when she was at home she looked better without it in some scenes. Baoning had her strong moments and not-so-good ones but she stood tall and kept fighting through. Loved how she would get cocky when it was against Qian's so-called i guess adopted sister Miarong and the stepmother who was a bit greedy with money. Miao Rong being the love rival and all was a bit to much but it showed the capable side of Baoning when it came to catfighting. Qian could try and try to defend her but Baoning knew how to handle such girls.

LOVE RIVALS - Gao Miao Rong // ZhaoXiao were going nuts which made it a bit too much.

Miao Rong was so in love with Li Qian from their youth time that she never ever thought to confess til he ended up getting married that she tried over and over to tear them apart. She schemed a bit to much even used QIan's stepmother to help till she had a mental breakdown when she was caught red-handed at almost putting Baoning in harm's way that she had enough and snapped at Qian and his parents to somehow cut her pinky finger off. She ended up leaving but still held grudge that she ended up working with the Empress Dowager until she got herself into trouble again causing her to get a beating in which her savior became her lover and she slowly changed and got her happy ending where she rode off with her new love to start over clean before that she helped Baoning with stopping whatever plans the Empress Dowager had planned.

Zhao Xiao well damn that guy was a jerk and an ass and pretty much deserved to live in misery. Dude falls in love the moment he sees her but she shoots him down left and right but still tries that his last attempt nearly cost Qian his life and even then when Baoning said it one last time he still wouldn't let it go til his ending left him being exiled unless he was needed in the future since he was a military man.

Zhao Yi (Emperor) was also head over heels in love with Baoning but that was more of a familial type thing since they grew up in the palace and he dreamed of being married to her but got shot down by her grandmother who was the great empress dowager, he ended up being stuck with a woman he never loved but that empress chick was so in love with him it was all one-sided. He hated the QIan got his girl he tried to doom their marriage but his ending was kinda sad but he got to say his goodbye to Baoning.

OTHER PAIRINGS

Dong Dong (Li Qians baby half sisiter) and Qing An oh that young love, Dong grew up being more of tom boy she loves to sword fight and dress up more as a guy which doesnt make sense how people cant tell if she is a boy or girl just by what she wears lol. Qing An at first was a mystery but soon find out he is royal in another part of the town but he rather be a simple guy than rule but his crazy over powered brother who is ruthless tried a few times to kill him and even somehow gave him a mental break in the head that he slowly came to be him self again but he loved how DOng DOng was treating him and just wanted to be with her at all costs even if pretending was the way but she caught on lol but she still loved him no matter if he was going to be dumb or not. she never cared of who he was by blood he saved her and fell in love which was new to them both. Cute relationship now she doesnt have to be forced to date other men lol bc her mom that woman lol kept wanting her to get married but her happy ending came true but she also was going to be away from them since she was going ot be with Qing An in his town.

Li QIan was acused of killing the Great Empress Dowager til it was found to be an overdose due to the palace physicians who was under orders by the Empress Dowager

Baoning traded the Supreme weapon book to get hubby back from bad guy Qing Tai who is crazy for power.

Qing Tai thinks he created a weapon but finds that the mre its used it will back fire bc there was a hidden key to keeping it from exploding over time which Baoning and her master in weapons worked over time to figure out.
