Crossing my fingers for the eepy bc it has my life colors it's literally meant to be🥹
Literally have been wanting a wyrm lookalike with toe beans and ITS PINK- my favorite ever
Anyway here is my shoddy attempt at writing the 300 word minimum short story?(˘•﹏•):
At least I'm pretty sure this is 300-

• You'd think for somebody who has a long (loong) history of studying Yokai, they'd be more adept to actually befriending them. This is blatantly untrue and make sure you sue whoever fed you that lie. I would, but the one who brought me into this field is dead, and my uncle always had a way of getting me to let him off the hook anyway. No, it would be better if you stay away from Yokai as much as possible. "Oh this one's cute" but nono don't be fooled, its stomach is actually a black hole and it could eat you in a single swallow. "Oh it's fluffy!" That one could coat you in a dangerous toxin if you touch it. The fact is, the more you learn about them, the more you think otherwise about getting close to one.
-So imagine my surprise when I (moronically, idiotically, some other synonym for stupidly) decided to take home this long, smelly, scraggly, pink... thing.
At the end of a grabbing stick don't worry, but it didn't seem to move much, other than a small sound that made me jump out of my skin. I wrapped it with cloth in the seat farthest from me in my car. I played some soothing music- because I happen to LIKE soothing music- and maybe because it seemed to calm the yokai thing down. Maybe the same for me too..
Taking care of a yokai, nevertheless THIS yokai- has proven to be difficult. Upon further inspection it only has three eyes (creepy) and two tails that it insists on thwacking everywhere at all hours of the day. I gave it a long bath last night but today it seems as though my efforts were in vain. Well, maybe not totally. It's previously scraggly and matted fur now bounced with an admittedly pleasant sheen and soft texture. I guess having 'luscious locks' myself helped a tiny bit.. I know I have a collection of soft keychains, but I have principles. And those principles do not include petting a hazardous pink devil with sharp fangs, big eyes, a fluffy tail, and a cute purr.. No-
I fear I am a hypocrite. But it's an exception so maybe this doesn't count. As it turns out, fluffy socks do not have the best traction on the fake ixaeltarkwood floors of my newish apartment. The air from my lungs is gone. Likely will continue to stay gone forever, thanks to the pink mass now laying on my chest. Despite the loud bang of my meeting with the floor, the yokai seemed to take it as an invitation to come and start clawing at my stomach. (As if cramps weren't bad enough right?) ..No, it wasn't clawing, it was.... kneading?? I didn't need to lift my head to feel the rhythmic "kneading of biscuits" that I'd heard from my friends who own regular cats. Not like I could lift my head since it was still aching from the fall. The yokai's two tails fanned themselves around my face and despite further not being able to breath... it felt nice.
Eventually I snapped back into it because oxygen is unfortunately mandatory for breathing. Or so my uncle said.
I sat up and moved it's tails away from my face. Surprisingly I felt dissapointed when I felt it's paws stop moving. I propped myself up on my hands and stared. The yokai turned and stared back. I stared. It stared. We all stared. Yippee kiy yay everybody, we did it.
...The way it looked at me was strange. Where I expected malice and perhaps plans to eat me whole, I saw only three red eyes. The red eyes I saw when I wrapped it in a piece of cloth. The red eyes I saw when I dried it from possibly it's first bath. The red eyes I just now saw my reflection in.
Unbeknownst to me, my hand started to lift. Bad hand. It floated hesitantly over the Yokai's face. I noticed and braced myself for it to bite the everliving crap out of me-
• So imagine my surprise when it gently nuzzled my palm with it's head, and purred.•

___________
Growing up in the Hidden City, Jophiel had developed the habit of exploring interesting places. Abandoned ruins, old houses, deserted gardens, anything that didn’t have a “No Trespassing” sign. The habit had led them to a particularly mystical forest. It wasn’t just the vibes of the place, they could sense it, their external gills instinctively absorbing the energy around them. They continued sure-footedly through the forest, their path forward illuminated by the gleaming full moon.
The silver light dappled between the leaves, casting them in a silvery-blue sheen. The air was fresh and clear, almost like being on the surface. Jophiel could hear the soft hoot of what were probably pygmy owl gryphs, the soft rustling of small creatures scurrying from tree to tree.
Almost randomly, Jophiel manages to stumble across a small pond in a clearing, the perfect circle of the moon almost fitting in the small pond. It was like one of the moments you only see captured in professional photographs, a small rock perfect for sitting on perched ideally next to the water.
Jophiel took a seat, humming softly to themselves as they sat down, pulling a small lyre out of the messenger bag at their side. They knew it was an old and outdated instrument, but it felt true to their… “angelic” heritage, and the soft notes had always calmed them down as a child.
As they began to play, soft and gentle, their eyes closed as they played from memory, they instinctively tuned out the soft sounds of the forest, ignoring the soft rustling that was getting closer and closer to their little perch.
It wasn’t until something delicate touched their tail did they notice, their eyes shooting down to spot a mid-sized, pink… thing? They had never seen such a creature before, which they found surprising, considering they had lived in and around mystical creatures their whole life. It was on the larger side, larger than the wyrms they’d seen scuttling about the more populated areas of the Hidden City, but looked a little similar. This one, though, was beautiful, various shades of pinks, with a red stripe along its sides, and two flowing tails twitching gently as it stared at them.
“... Hey there,” Jophiel whispers, holding their hand out, like one would to a dog they’ve just met. The little creature made a small noise, somewhere between a squeak and a chirp, and sniffed cautiously, a tiny, powder blue tongue flicking out as if to smell the air.
“You’re so cute… you remind me of those little red and white candies from the surface…” they hum gently, delicately scritching under the little creature’s chin. “... What were those called? Oh, Brach’s. I think I’m gonna call you Brachs. What do you think? Wanna come home with me?”
The creature chitters softly, wriggling its way into their messenger bag, poking its head out of the flap.
“Well, I guess that settles it, hm?” Jophiel giggles.
OHHHH I ADORE THIS, I ADORE IT A LOT,,, you write so well what do you MEAN-
Holding this SO gently,,, maybe next time!!
@yoursocialchameleon
the long creature!!!
There was something pink in the forest and that was decidedly not normal. I had been taking a midnight walk as I was unable to sleep and decided to let the light of the full moon guide me. I did not expect to come across such an unusual being.
It was, as said before, very pink, and stood out against the dark greens and browns of the woods like red fox against snow in the winter. I approached it, burning with curiosity about its origins
Once I got closer I was able to fully observe it, and it was beautiful, its elegant long body winding hypnoticly around the trunks of trees. I was surprised it didn't get tangled with its two tails, it walked the forest as if it had known these trees its whole life, yet I had never seen anything like it before on my previous nighttime walks.
Suddenly it turned its neck to look at me. I waved nervously, “uh… hi?” Perhaps sensing I was no threat it approached without reservation, only stopping once it was right in front of me. Its head only reached to my hips so it looked up to stare at my face, waiting for something.
Hesitantly I knelt down and pet its head and neck, thankfully that seemed like the right move as the creature wrapped its body around me and sat down, chirping happily. I smiled, still petting it, I was glad it seemed to like me.
“Say, I haven't seen anything like you around here… do you have a name? Are you someone’s pet perhaps?”
The creature shook its head, then yawned and laid its head to rest on my lap.
“I guess I’ll call you Strawberry, do you mind that name Strawberry?”
The creature didn't bite my fingers off it seems Strawberry was an acceptable name.
This was genuinely one of my top favorite story entries ngl, bc YESSSS HUGE LONG CREATURE, YOU GET THE VISION!!! Adore how fluffy u drew them too, holding like precious treasure
Maybe next time!
@yoursocialchameleon
Gotta say, absolutely love this design! You killed it with this one! I had to scribble this quick tonight since I have classes alllll tomorrow and I didn’t want to risk being late, so apologies if the drawing is, well, scribbly XD I saw that the dude was pink and vaguely valentines themed and absolutely know he had to go to Estrella! Hope Valencia doesn’t mind being named after a city in Spain lol
~~
It was midnight. The moon hung high in the sky, covered only by thin trails of smog, casting silver light over one of New York City’s park. Estrella's pale pink hoodie danced in a light breeze, but she wasn't cold. It was a perfectly comfortable temperature out, in her expert opinion.
Donnie shivered beside her. “I do not understand how you aren't cold.”
“Fur,” Estrella answered.
“And warmbloodedness.” He grabbed her hand, his cold feeling nice against the warmth of her pawpads.
“So you do understand?”
“I know why you are warm, that doesn't mean I understand it,” Donnie argued, pulling his much heavier jacket close. “Can we go back home now?”
“You run around all night, but cannot handle a walk in a park?” Estrella asked, astounded.
“We run around when the nights are warm enough, it’s barely even spring,” Donnie countered.
Estrella stepped closer to him, attempting to share her abundance of warmth. Her winter coat had yet to shed, so every day still felt hot to her, and the breeze barely touched her skin. Besides, she liked going topside! She rarely ever went topside with the Hamato brothers.
She was about to complain, to say that they hadn’t been out for very long, to point out that it was a gorgeous night out, that she hadn’t seen the full moon since she was a kitten back in Spain, that stretching her legs in something that wasn’t a round of ‘chase the laser pointer’ or ‘fight until you can’t stand anymore’ felt really good, when a noise caught her attention.
She stopped walking, her ears flicking up. Donnie stumbled back as he continued forward without her.
“What?” he asked.
“Did you hear that?” Estrella asked, scanning their surroundings.
“No,” Donnie answered. “I can’t hear half the things you can, remember? A feline’s sense of hearing can detect sounds approximately three times higher than a human can, which is about how much I can hear, minus some for hearing damage from blasting dubstep at full volume –”
Estrella stopped listening, trying to pinpoint the sound. There – a bench on the other side of the path. On it stood a little pink thing. It looked fluffy.
“Plushie?” She asked, tilting her head. Then it moved, tilting her head at her. “Not plushie!” Estrella let go of Donnie's hand and sped-walked over, trying not to rush at it but unable to contain her excitement.
“Estrella, what –”
She crouched in front of the strange creature. It was long, with four clawed legs with three fingers each.
Hands like Donnie, she thought, pupils stretching the last bit wider they could go.
“Hi little guy,” she whispered. She rested her hands on the edge of the bench, her tail lashing excitedly behind her. She stretched one finger out towards the pink creature. “Long way away from the magic underground city I have never been to, are you not?”
The creature sniffed her finger, its two tails winding through the air. It was smaller than her cat form, she guessed, but just as long.
Estrella gently rubbed its chin with her finger. It made a noise not unlike her own purrs. Estrella purred back, a grin stretching across her face. She rubbed behind its ears - were those ears? Feathers? - and horns before scooping it up and holding it in the air like that one lion movie she watched (and cried at) with Mikey.
“I shall name you Valencia!” She declared.
“Estrella. We’re not bringing that thing home. It’s a wild animal,” Donnie said flatly.
“You wanted to go home, right?” Estrella held the critter close to her chest and gave Donnie her saddest expression. Immediately his stern face started to crumble. Then the dragon-like creature wiggled in her grip, caught its claws on her hoodie - which it matched, to her delight - and looped around her neck like a scarf. “Donnie. Donnie, it is pink.”
“We don’t even know what it is – do you even know how to care for an animal? You can hardly take care of yourself…”
“You can teach me!”
He sighed, shoulders dropping as he succumbed to her magical sad eyes that got her everything she wanted combined with the prospect of bestowing knowledge on another. “Okay. Fine. We can keep it. But you’re gonna be responsible for it!”
Estrella giggled, coming around to his side, grabbing his hand again, and rubbing her cheek against his shoulder. “Thank you Donnieeee.”
“Yeah, yeah, wait until you have to explain this to Raph.”
DAWWWWWWWWWWWW THIS WAS SO CUTE!!!! Donnie you folded so fast man, but I can't even blame you. It's the kitty eyes 😔
Unfortunately the wheel chose elsewhere, but maybe next time!

How Miles and Sine meet Bliss:
Miles pov: I was walking down the street with Sine on my shoulder, heading to the store to get some tools for my dad. On my way to the store I saw a critter peeking out from a crack at the bottom of a wall of a building. I figured it was another wyrm, so I pulled out one of Sine's snacks out of my pocket, to lure the critter out, which Sine wasn't too happy about. The critter came out, and it wasn’t a wyrm, but it was… well I'm not completely sure, but it was beautiful, and very lengthy. Sine usually wasn’t a relationship and romance kinda guy, very against it like myself, but let me tell you, when he saw this critter, he fell head over heels and B-lind for the rest of the snacks in my pocket and straight to the critter, I don’t know if it was romantic feelings or platonic, or if he just wants another critter for his weird army thing, but his tail was spazing. It was a funny sight to watch after that spaz insisted we bring them home; I debated for a minute, until Sine gave me puppy eyes and I agreed, as long as the critters themselves wanted to come, and to my surprise they did! So they came and crawled into my pocket and I finished my trip to the store and went home. The whole walk home I teased Sine about his new crush and he denied everything and was grumpy about it the whole time. When we got home sine immediately rushed to go get his little henchmen, cupid (a kiwi adopt) so he could introduce them to each other. While he did that I got the critter settled and and decided i needed a name to call them for now or possibly forever and sense I didn’t necessarily know there gender i decided on the gender neutral name Bliss, which they seemed to like, after that, I let Sine show them around by himself while I went to snooze for the rest of the day.
(I know I'm late, but I figured I'd post anyways)
THIS IS SO SO CUTEEEEEEEE,,,, Maybe next time Sine!!
