TYPES OF FANGIRLING/FANBOYING!
Hello Tumblrians!
Picture this: Itâs a nice sunny day the birds are chirping and the trees are swaying until suddenly: AHHHHH!!!!!!
What was that noise?
Well that was you. You just discovered that Sarah J Maas is co-writing a novel with Victoria Aveyard and you just canât deal with life right now⌠your eyes are lighting up and suddenly your neutral state becomes wild with adrenaline and your fingers are itching to tweet out to your followers your excitement. Well thatâs just one type of fangirling/fanboying but there are many more:
THE TWEETERÂ
This fangirl/fanboy is the type that when they get news of something big or exciting happening they need to tweet the news to their thousands of followers the second the news is released. Their main social media platform may be Twitter but they might also post on Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr etc. For example this might be what a Tweeter might say if Fall Out Boy released this epic new song:
â@Fall Out Boyâs new song is so good Iâm crying #RANDOMSONGBYFALLOUTBOYâ
âYOU GUYS NEED TO CHECK THIS SONG OUT https://youtube.com.au/randomsongthatihavenonameforbyfalloutboy/ â
And with all this tweeting constantly day after day hour after hour minute after minute you really hype the song or book or whatever you are fangirling/fanboying about behind the computer screen.
THE FAINTERÂ
These are the types of fangirls/fanboys that just cannot deal AT ALL whatsoever when something big happens. They scream and fall off their chairs and just sit there contemplating the meaning of life while staring at a ceiling. Obviously they come back to the computer screen when they are somewhat more calmer trying to breathe and keep their cool.
For example: Itâs a nice day you are just walking into the library at school. You are eagerly anticipating BTS new music video knowing you would most likely cry and scream internally but when you start watching the video you just DID NOT expect it to be that god-level amazing. Your bias hair is even glowing! And so with all of this⌠your body cannot deal with the amazingness and you just faint and scream which is very bad indeed to be doing in a library.
THE ARTISTÂ
These are the people who just HAVE to draw pictures or create some art about the thing they are fangirling/fanboying about. They might also write lengthy fan-fictions filled with swoony romance and really cute scenes where the two are trying to hide their major crushes on one another. But the thing is this type of fan is an artist they create and bring life to the page.
For example, Adrien and Marionette FINALLY AFTER TWO SEASONS discovered that they are secretly Cat Noir and Ladybug. (of course this might trigger the other types of fangirls/fanboys) but you just need to draw the scene with a pencil or a paintbrush and you just have to write down what Adrien felt when he discovered Marionetteâs secret or when Marionette discovered his. You need to get every scene right and in as much detail as possible which is why they call you a perfectionist.
THE HEAVY BREATHERSÂ
These are those types of fangirls/fanboys who just heavy breathe. They donât make a commotion or faint on the floor or fall off their chair. They might not even seem like actual fangirls/fanboys but trust me they are. When they are watching two people (who they have been shipping for almost 100 years get together) they just canât help but to breathe and grin cheekily with the look of âI KNEW ITâ they walk out after fangirling holding their breath and walking into another room grinning like a crazy person because of all the cuteness they experienced.
For example: You are watching Riverdale silently shipping Toni and Cheryl to get together and become an item. And then suddenly THEY DO. Your heart is pumping wildly and you release the breath that you have been holding for a while. After the scene you walk to the kitchen where your mum asks: âHey, you alright?â but you are just trying to keep your cool and KEEP BREATHING (you manage to forget how to do that all the time)
THE SELLERS
Those are the types of fangirls/fanboys who will shove something in your face to the point where it would annoy the other person. You bring this thing you are fangirling/fanboying over in everyday conversation but really you just want everyone to experience the awesomeness of the item you are fangirling/fanboying over. Itâs because of this you hype everything up and get people talking about it.
For example: You just finished the whole Mortal Instruments series and it was so good YOU NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT IT AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS FANTASTIC BOOK! And you try to make sure everyone reads it. I have a perfect video for you to watch to demonstrate this struggle:

This is so relatable.
This is scary accurate!! :)

Saw this gif of jessethereader with one of his Hollow City copies on my dashboard and remembered that I planned on starting my presentation about Ransom Riggs and how he uses photography in his books today, but then I forgot. Nah, I'll do it tomorrow then. Or the next day. Or the next day.
