Judge Dismisses Taylor Swift Lawsuit by Using Her Lyics

Artist Jesse Braham was suing super star Taylor Swift for $42 million for allegedly stealing his lyrics for the hit song “Shake It Off”, but now, a judge in California is dismissing the case in the most clever way by using T-Swift’s very own lyrics. Judge Gail Standish had fun with some of the lyrics as she quoted them and dismissed the lawsuit. Click to see just what she said! This will take some shaking off: Taylor Swift faces $42m lawsuit

Taylor Swift is facing a $42m (£27m) lawsuit over claims she plagiarised the lyrics for smash hit Shake It Off, according to reports. R&B artist Jesse Braham has accused the Grammy award winner of taking some of the lyrics for the song penned in 2014 from a song he wrote in 2013. Braham, 50, says the lyrics: "Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play; And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate" borrow from the words of his song Haters Gone Hate, which contains the phrase: "Haters gonna hate, players gonna play."

Braham said he noticed the similarity between the songs when he saw Swift perform Shake It Off on The Ellen DeGeneres Show several months ago. He spoke to representatives from Sony and Swift's record label Big Machine initially asking to be named as a writer and requesting that Swift, who has millions of fans worldwide, including 65m on Twitter alone, pose for a selfie with him.

If I didn't write the song Haters Gone Hate, there wouldn't be a song called Shake It Off.
