What happened to misskirby?
apparently, she's been harassed for over a year and @staff didn't do a damn thing about it, so she deleted her blog. Her work is still up on AO3, though. It's just a damn shame that people still cannot behave on the internet, that horrible people who think it's okay to threaten others see like...no pushback from people who are supposed to cut their access. I totally don't blame her for it, its honestly the best move at this point. I DO however want to throw hands with whoever's been pulling this shit.
my mixed metaphors are very important to me i'll have you know but i kept trying to make a joke and my brain keeps mixing the metaphors too well. "i'll tranquilize my nuclear rhino" is not a sentence i thought i would think today, and yet

but ‘there’s a nuclear meltdown in progress so we’re tranquilizing a rhino about it’
still sounds like some kind of idiom about redirecting attention from a Super Serious Problem that’s too big to be easily solved to a smaller, noisier, more immediate issue that may not actually need solving but dadgum we can actually address this one, so let’s get to it!

i'd like to start off the new year by remembering that it's been almost three years since @misskirby accidentally called batman "dad" when talking about BTAS
So I adore your three two one boom fic series and I of COURSE have questions, but am more than happy to wait out those spoilers for the next update. In the meantime- one question I did want to ask- how do you get so technical in your narration? Are you an engineer or just extremely well versed in sw lingo and tech? I’m so curious, because I love the language you use but it would never in a million years occur to me to write about insulation and cotton when discussing Vader’s suit.

i’m so glad u think my narration is technical because that means i’m successfully faking it 😂 i’m actually the farthest thing from a engineer possible, i’m working on a degree in medieval history! mostly, i’ve got the sw tech lingo down from reading other fanfics and not trawling through wookieepedia (i know, im a fake fan don’t sue). the rest of the engineering is mostly googling on the side. u can probably see the medieval history stuff coming through with anything about swords/blades (lightsabers/vibroblades) and some stuff about armor.
that being said, anything about vader’s suit/health is really from @misskirby, who has a fantastic mind for biology! i highly suggest a look through her posts about vader’s suit, because she’s (first off) an amazing person and she’s so smart and has amazing insights about vader’s life support and quality of living.
