hi I saw the response to an ask you sent on another blog and I HOPE THID ISNT ANNOYING BUT I needed to let you know youâre SO incredibly right about kiss me (kill me) with. Polyclew. LIKE. Something with rafta gradually losing her humanity and not realizing it with the first half/gradual descent. Something with either rafta or Nestor (as he gets wormed) and the Brief Moment of lucidity before the end of the song. Also ESPECIALLY the line âyour bones will harden and your skin will sloughâ (and the notation in the vid abt the singer/speaker sounding like they genuinely think itâs a good thing) and Nestorâs lines right before/after . Eugening. About how heâs ânever felt more aliveâ and how Sam âmade him a new manâ etc etcâŚ
Thank you!!! Even before I got into Look Outside I loved this song so so so much, thereâs just something about it that scratches my brain, both in concept and execution.
In context of Polyclew, I see it as the first and second parts (relative normalcy and the realization that something Might be wrong) being Rafta and her longing for Nestor, then the part where it really starts going wrong as Nestor getting Wormed and yelling at Sam to help him. Itâd be less of âloved one please help I donât know whatâs happening and Iâm scared :(â and more of âYou got me into this mess so you BETTER know how to get me out of it.â
I already mentioned this in that other ask but The Part Where It Happens is Nestor trying to convince Eugene that yes, being Wormed is really awesome!!! You should totally let me do this to you!!! Just look how happy I am!! :) Then finally that moment of lucidity is Eugene begging Sam to just kill him, but still trying his best to tell Sam not to blame himself, even if by all logic he should (and maybe secretly does) hate him for it.
God I am so unwell about this song, thank you for sending this ask.
