It's really cute....!!! I think the fact that she captioned it as "just friends" but tagged it with #jera on Instagram specifically is very funny. Actually even funnier considering wtf is going on in the current canon (ep 388 and you already know what's going on in the fast pass). Uru would put these two in the trenches and then post new cute Jera art to distract us from the fact that they're kinda in hell right now!!!

I did immediately think "holy shit... Pocky Game Jera????" when I got the notif that she posted on Twitter earlier today, but I've since realized that Sera is probably just stealing John's singular stick of Pocky. Either way, I think we should totally get an actual Pocky Game... art... from Uru.... please please please please please please please!!! It's 2026 but it's never too late!! People draw for Pocky Day (11/11) still!!! STILL!!!

If Jera were to play the Pocky Game, I am under the firm belief that Sera would win...!!! Or they kiss cuz both of them are way too stubborn to give up. I think Sera has the better chance of winning cuz she simply has less shame when it comes to physically intimate with John. John has no shame when it comes to saying shit like "I don't want to leave you again!" (ep 298) but I think he's more prone to getting flustered around her... like when she invites him onto the same bed as her (ep 283, 375).

But... John certainly was the first to initiate that (hand) kiss in 375 so he certainly isn't a coward when it comes to courting Sera. He looks more flustered in this new pocky art tho!! Sera looks like she's trying to steal from him but teasing him at the same time... cuz what is he gonna do about it? LOL

Honestly there's a good amount of Jera art that Uru draws that falls within the genre of "Sera stealing shit from John for no reason," and this also happens to be one of them.

Case in point... his boba, his scarf, his jacket, and his hat (not sure if she's taken his jacket again but I wouldn't put it past her)

Let's also not forget that she's been taking his shit in the canon story too LOL. It all started with that damn triple choco cake after all (that she failed to take).... but now she can just take whatever the fuck she wants from him without even asking ^_^

She technically didn't steal from him way back then but she was also borrowing his clothes to use as sleepwear when she first slept over at his place all the way back in episode 12:

(you can go back and reread the episode and pay attention to what she's wearing before she goes to sleep and after she wakes up hehe)

One of the best parts about Jera is that they started off as best friends, had that rough patch (to put it very lightly), and then became even closer after they made up. Uru posting Jera ship art and calling them "just friends" is a very tongue-in-cheek thing since most people can tell that John and Sera are endgame.

Of course, the real question is still when are John and Sera going to get together already?!?!? but I feel like it's gonna happen eventually. Well, hopefully before the series ends anyway. Wouldn't it be horrible if they never got together even though they're so batshit crazy about each other? Imagine... seeing your favorite ship not get together even after 20 years of serialization.... (this is about a certain pink haired dragon slayer and a certain blonde celestial mage 😒)

Look, it's been 10 years but I still have faith!! IGNORE THAT IT TOOK 375 EPISODES FOR A SINGLE JERA KISS!!! They've been cuddling, hugging, and affirming their devotion to one another for the last few hundred episodes!! The slow burn is still going but it's worth it trust... ignore that I laughed at El*ceed for having their first kiss 400 something chapters in (I don't ship it tho) when Jera is my fave ship.... also ignore that it took me like 9 years to come around to the ship lel. WHAT MATTERS IS THAT I'M ONE OF JERA'S STRONGEST SOLDIERS NOW!!!

I am thankful that Jera is the most popular ship in the fandom (at least I think so? Idk I'm detached from the fandom) because it means that I am guaranteed to get fed thru canon and official art. The capstone ship of the series will surely sail!!

I've heard some people call Jera a situationship but idk... I think they're still "best friends" right now, even though we know they're something more than that! I think the general vibe of the word "situationship" rubs me the wrong way cuz we know they'll get together eventually and aren't afraid to commit to one another wholeheartedly (they're already doing that tho lol). Or maybe that's just on me and my unfortunate interpretation of the word. They just need to have one of those "what are we?" talks, sort that shit out, and kiss or whatever.
