Hello friends and anyone who knows who Jennypen is (author of the popular Growing Boys series on AO3). This probably isn’t the best platform for this because of Tumblr’s implosion, but I don’t know where the rest of her audience mainly is anymore.

This morning, Dec 24th 2018, at about 4am EST (9am GMT for her), Jennypen’s fight with cancer came to an end. Surrounded by her family, she passed comfortably and quietly. She spoke so highly of all her fans and supporters, I figured you guys deserved to know what happened.

I am Kareen. I’ve been Jenny’s best friend for over ten years. I’ve helped her through so many milestones in her life, from escaping abusive relationships, her friends dying, parenting stress, rebuilding self-esteem, physical health and mental health complications, and the crux of it all: welcoming her into a polyamorous relationship with our boyfriend Cas. 

I did it as a means to protect her from toxic significant others, and I have no regrets. She spent the last year happier than she had been for the ten before it, so you can rest easy knowing her life ended on a pretty high one despite her circumstances. Cas and I must now clean up the broken edges of our relationship caused by the loss and try to carry on and be the best people we can be so we can honor her and her kind heart.
