Okay, I think I’ve already explained this, but okay. I want to do something different, like go to the comic book store or a library or gosh a drive in movie would be INCREDIBLE. A star is very important to me because I draw it so much on my palm that it’s become this symbol for getting though tough times and that I can do anything if I have the star.

Well Jennifer A. Scott and I, obviously, think alike, but full fledged authors have to include Stephanie Perkins, Marissa Meyer, and Terry Goodkind.

I guess I like my name, but I recently found out I was almost Natalie Rae instead of Natalie Rose which I think would have been so much cooler. But if I had to pick a name, I’d love to go for Grainne.

Uhhhhhh, I guess human doing? I identify myself by the things I like, which is usually what I do (or who I’d like to do if you catch my drift...ahhh, that was terrible, ignore that)

No. I really like the history behind religion and totally want to believe that magic and stuff exists, but I don’t think anything’s upstairs or down.

7.do you care about your ethnicity?

Well, considering I’m white as fuck, I’d say not. I do like learning about where I come from though (England, Italy, Germany,etc).

8.what musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime?

I’ve been told that I literally listen to anything under the sun, but I’ve always really liked punk rock and more harder stuff. It all started when little eight year old Nat decided to look up Evanescence and the world spiraled into a pit.

Yes, I have a convention project that actually needs to get done, thanks for reminding me. I mostly draw, but I can paint if it is required.

10.do you have a creed?

I had to look this up and got something about Christianity, but I’ll take it as a belief system. I mostly follow the “I like this, let’s try it”, at least I would if anxiety didn’t get in the way.

11.describe your ideal day.

Wake up with no homework to do, so I can sleep in to a nice hour. I get a breakfast of a muffin and possibly soda, then spend the day going through antique stores and used book stores, preferable with someone I cared about, before crashing on the couch, cuddling, while watching a really cheesy 80′s movie (*cough* Labyrinth *cough*).

12.dog person or cat person?

DOGSSSSSSSS! Dogs are my children and cats are my 2nd mortal enemy (following birds). I love all dogs and will one day have a house full of them... but cats are alright.

13.inside or outdoors?

Indoors. Nature hates me and I would rather be in a pile of blankets for comfort than using it as an escape from the devil bugs.

14.are you a musician?

*sighs* my least favorite question. Both of my parents are musicians (my mom’s a singer, my dad’s a drummer) and I CAN sing and maybe I wouldn’t mind fronting a band or something, but after years of my parents doing it, the whole taste for it has soured for myself.

Inkheart, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Le Morte d’Arthur, and the Neverending Story.

16.if you’d grown up in a different environment, do you think you’d have turned out the same?

I might be more outgoing. I grew up as an only child with overprotective parents who didn’t always let me do a lot, so I feel if it was different, I wouldn’t have the social anxiety I do now, but probably wouldn’t be as quirky.

I think it’s realer than what the me is in the real world sometimes, because I’m not afraid to say emotion and tough shit on this website.

No because whenever any love-y feeling come around, my mind immediately tries to squash them because there’s always something behind it that is dangerous. But once I do love, when the point comes, I find it incredibly easy to let go.

I’m female, I use she/her pronouns, and I’m bisexual with a lean more towards boys. If you’d asked me a year ago, I probably wouldn’t’ve answered. We call that progress everyone!

It’s getting closer to being me than before, but not quite there. I’m at like 75% me probably.

1: Currently Reading

A couple of books at the same time, tbh, but the one that’s closest to me is Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins.

2: Describe the last scene you read in as few words as possible. No character names or title.

Fashionista wannabe is questioning her relationship while talking to nerdy crush from the past and remembering how adorable is is as they talk through their windows.

3: First book that had a major influence on you

The entire Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It was one of the first series I completed when I was like, nine, that was a decent size and, well, damn. These books caused me to get into mythology and Latin, both of which caused one of my majors to be Classics. It opened a whole world up to me and I will always thank them for it.

4: Quick, you're in desperate need of a fake name. What character name do you think of first?

I do have a w.i.p penname, Grainne Wood, but if you actually want a character, it would be Morgan le Fay or Lucy Pevensie.

5: Favorite series and why

You bitch, this is the hardest. If I had to go as a whole rather than the best books, it is The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer rn because its two of my favorite things: fairy tales and sci-fi action-adventure. Also all of them are really strong, connected storylines that I could read over and over again.

6: Public library or personal library?

Talk to my friends, my collection has become a public library for them, so personal library it is.

7: What is the most important part of a book, in your opinion?

The side characters. If you have terrible mains, you can make up for it with all your side characters (i.e. Twilight). They are the main part of the world your characters interact with and they can really make or break it if the reader finds them believable or not.

8: Why are you reading the book you're currently reading?

I’ve been meaning to read all three of Stephanie Perkins’s books and this was the only one that was at the bookstore when I went, so, here we are.

9: If you were to publish a book what (besides your real name) would you use for your author name?

Didn’t I go over this just above? It would be Grainne Lynn Wood, shortened to G.L. Wood.

10: Do you listen to music when you read? Make a mini playlist for one of your favorite books.

Of course I do, and I always have songs connected to books because of it. Okay, so a playlist for, say, The Princess Bride, would be: Never Forget you by Zara Lawson, I Feel Pretty from West Side Story, and Today was a Fairytale by Taylor Swift (it was the first book on my shelf I hadn’t already mentioned, so take what you get).

11: What book fandom do you affiliate yourself with the most?

Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit/The Simarillion. Weirdly enough, I haven’t finished LOTR or started the Simarillion yet, but hey, when you’re writing fantasy, you get pulled into the dark recesses of fandoms.

12: Tell one book story or memory (what you were wearing when you were reading something, someone saw you cry in public, you threw a book across the room and broke a window, etc.)

When I finished reading Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, I was so angry by how soap-opera-y it was that I chucked it down the stairs, screaming for Guinevere to go fuck herself.

13: What character would be your best friend in real life?

Probably either Ellie Harrison from Avalon High or Cath from Fangirl. Both are similar to myself, but different enough that we could be the best trio.

Okay, I just got a pen version of the key Thorin uses to get into Erebor in the Hobbit, which is awesome. But my favorite is my Harry Potter wand (technically it’s Bill’s, but at the same time, its MINE) because, hey, who doesn’t want to be a wizard sometimes.

Okay, what the FUCK is it with there not being any novelizations of movies anymore. I lived for that shit when I was younger, because I could go exactly to where i wanted in the story whenever, and it made it easier to get into superhero movies and DAMNIT. I JUST WANT A DAYS OF FUTURE PAST NOVELIZATION, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?  (also find a cheap Labyrinth one, but that isn’t gonna happen haha)

17: What do you think about movie/tv adaptations?

I love them, if they do one thing. Keep the feeling of the books. I don’t care if you change things (mostly), but keep the babies in tact. Like, the reason I can’t like the Harry Potter movies too much is that, after a point, they lost who Harry, Ron, and Hermione actually were, and then they just got sour for me. So, just, make sure its recognizable and has the heart, and you’re good.

My top two are Katytastic and Polandbananasbooks, because I’ve been following the latter since I was 13 and the former is just great.

ALL OF THEM. But srsly, it’s probably The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe because it has embodied my childhood so much.

This is hard because almost all the things I watch are based off of things. I guess I would like a Pirates of the Caribbean book, but only of the first one.

No because I started reading before most of my elementary friends did and neither of my parents were big readers until I got into it and my mom found things she liked, so, I kinda influenced them.

Nancy Drew all the way, I wanted to be a mystery solver like her.

(thank the parents for this one) I loathe Where the Red Fern Grows (but I cry more than cringe at this) and Catcher in the Rye (because fuck you, Holden).

It’s mostly what catches my eye unless I’ve heard something interesting about it and have to hunt it down.

I will change it to one series, which is the Sword of Truth series because it is incredible and has the best show adaptation and really good female characters and just DO IT.

I don’t like it when authors put in gay pairings most of the time because they feel forced and awkward, I thought killing off Tris was a good idea and she had to have a sacrifice just not that way necessarily, I love the story behind the Inheritance Cycle but the writing style is shit, and Rick Riordan’s newer works just feel like he’s given up and that’s why I won’t read Trials of Apollo.

I want it to be Trials of Apollo so I can enjoy it after so long waiting.

38: What qualities do you find annoying in a character?

I don’t like it when characters think that they don’t need the help of others and then go back and get it anyway, because hey, don’t flip flop. I also hate anyone in a love triangle because that shit is stupid, and I don’t like male characters that have the traits that are found annoying in girls but is read off as different and cool.
