I super support this bad decision: hug from behind for Jemma/Hive please!
“This is proof,” Kasius says, eyes alight, as he carefully rests his hands on Jemma’s hips, “of my divinity.”
Jemma has to fight to keep the sneer off her lips.
They’d clothed her in a dress with the sides bared so that his hands match up with the gold marks are there.
She thinks that maybe if she’d been raised here – maybe if she really had no hope – she’d think he was a god.
But she knows better – she knows about the other mark.
For the five sentences, parasimmons + the word 'stray'
"Jemma," he says when she's shoved in front of him, voice warm like they're friends, "to what do I owe the honor?"
She has no intention of answering, and maybe the man who brought her in knows it by the defiant tilt of her chin or maybe he's just more used to ignoring prisoners but he answers, shoving her forward again. "We found this stray wandering the western expanse, Sir, she had a bag with chemicals in it. It's isolated in the safety room in section C."
"That will be all," Hive – or whatever he wants to be called these days – says to the man, not taking his eyes off of her.
She fixes her gaze at the far wall and tries not to let her fear show.
"I'm not a fool," he says as he sits back down on his throne, "I know that SHIELD is still around, you keep sending agents in and they keep changing and giving up what little information they have. Has Coulson finally lost it enough that he thinks I wouldn't recognize you?"
She's a much better liar now and she knows she knows she doesn't show her feelings on her face, but even though they never had any proof he could, she lived on that planet with him and knows he can do things they haven't even discovered.
"Oh, Jem," he says, and he sounds so much like Will and she can feel the tears burning behind her eyes, "you're the last one aren't you? I'm sorry, baby."
He stands up and walks towards her. "You know you always have a place with me." The hand he holds out is steady and even though she's not looking directly at him she can feel the warmth of his gaze. "Join me, it won't hurt for more than a second."
Her lips twitch and she meets his eyes. "Funny, that's what I was going to say."
She's not sure where section C is, but the explosion can still be heard from where they are.
"Come back inside. Please." for drunk fic
Again, not drunk fic (because I failed), just five minute fic and I hope you enjoy! <3 <3
She’s curled up at the edge of the pond when he finds her.
She’s not surprised that he’s found her – she can’t be. Not when they’re bound.
Jemma considers running again, hiding somewhere else before he rounds the bend and see her. But it seems pointless when she knows exactly where he is and the only reason he’s left her outside so long is because he wanted to.
She knows that. He knows that she knows.
So she stays, curled up at the edge of the pond with her feet slowly going numb from the cold.
He doesn’t say anything and she keeps staring out into the water until he drapes his coat over her shoulders. The fabric is warm from him – she’s always surprised by how warm he runs since he’s just a parasite inhabiting a dead body – and smells earthy and comforting.
She wishes it didn’t.
She understands, biologically, why she would find it comforting, why her fingers curl around the edges of the coat and tug it further around herself, but that doesn’t make it any easier.
She’d sworn to May that she wouldn’t place herself above others – that she’d do whatever she had to do to protect others above herself. She’d thought that was what she was doing when she handed herself over to him – her team went free and she assumed she would die.
She hadn’t realized, then, what they were to each other. She doesn’t know how he’d known, but then he’d touched her and –
They’re bound.
Jemma could end it all so easily. End him so easily. But she can’t. She’s spent the last three hours trying to convince herself to do it, to drown herself or bash her own head in or anything.
She can’t.
She’s a coward.
She shivers and then he’s crouching behind her, his hands warm through his coat as he rubs up and down and she finds herself leaning back despite herself.
“Come back inside. Please.” He sounds like Ward – like the real Ward not the slightly awkward one she knew on the Bus – but he’s not him.
She nods, numb except where his hands touch her, and lets him help her to her feet.
He presses a kiss to her temple and she can feel his lips curled into a smile. She closes her eyes and tries not to enjoy it.
She hopes that the others don’t know – they might hesitate if they have a chance to kill him if they know she’ll die too. Even May, she thinks, would hesitate for an instant.
“I love you,” he says and she tilts her head up to him and accepts his kiss.
“I love you, too,” she murmurs into his mouth – softly because she’s ashamed of the truth of it.
She can’t help it, it’s biology, but it doesn’t make her feel any better.
“Let’s go warm up,” he says, wicked promise in his voice and she walks with him, helpless.
Jemma/Hive, "Admittedly, the plan was flawed" for drunk ficcing, please!
Again, not drunk ficcing. Five minute ficcing to make up for my fail the other day. <3 <3 <3 Also everyone should go tell Amy how amazing she is because she’s sick and being sick sucks. and i’ve totally failed at writing her the smut i promised because i fail at lots of things sometimes
Jemma wakes up with a familiar pain in her head. She stays perfectly still until the last moments of consciousness come back to her and –
Giyera had gotten out. Giyera had gotten out and attacked of course and –
She tries to hold herself still. Not that she thinks being unconscious will actually do her any good but because she’s not quite willing to deal with what’s actually happened.
She’s alive, and she tries to feel positive about that, but it’s hard.
She’s alive. She doesn’t know if any of the others are. She doesn’t know where she is.
She doesn’t know what’s coming.
“Come on, Jemma,” says a voice that’s Ward’s but not – with the inflection of Will and her heart feels like it’s breaking all over again, “there’s no reason to pretend you’re not awake when we both know you are.”
She doesn’t open her eyes, just curling up tighter into a ball because no, no, no, no.
“I’m not going to go away just because you wish it. What threat could I possibly be to you?”
There’s a hand in her hair and she jerks back and – more pain from being knocked out and the grip in her hair is tight and her eyes fly open and –
It’s not Ward. She can see that right away.
Oh, it’s his body. But for as evil as Ward was – and he was – his eyes never looked so old and dark and – it’s like a sandstorm, the fear she feels as she meets the eyes of what should’ve been her death.
“Did you really think keeping your eyes closed would work?” he – IT – asked thoughtfully, hand gentling in her hair and then he was lightly touching a tender spot at her temple and then the pain started to fade.
She didn’t want to think about the parasite helping her own flesh heal and so she spoke to try to fight away the panic, “Admittedly, the plan was flawed.” Her voice is surprisingly level and she’s proud of herself for a moment for managing to have control – and then he’s leaning over and there are warm lips on her forehead and the sound she makes is pure fear and he’s laughing but she can’t get away.
He’s cradling her to his chest and the pain in her head is gone but she feels weak and she wonders how painful being devoured by microscopic parasites is going to be.
Jemma wishes Giyera had killed her.
“Make it quick,” she says, voice muffled into the cloth of his ridiculous black clothes.
“Hm?”
She can hear his heartbeat, feel it where she’s pressed against him and that doesn’t seem right. He can reanimate corpses, but it doesn’t seem fair that they can be so alive. Warm and breathing and alive. “Killing me. I’m the sacrifice that got away, aren’t I?”
He laughs and this doesn’t sound like Ward or Will or anything human and she feels freeze her down to her toes. “Oh no, you’re not going to die. You’re not going to die for a very long time.” His hand pets through her hair as she trembles. “They sent me male bodies to inhabit. Now, using women to rebuild is fine but they’ll never be my preferred host. No, my darling, you were never that type of sacrifice.”
She can only see his chest and part of a plain white wall but at his words she finds herself staring without seeing anything.
She wishes Giyera had killed her.
