Got a couple pm’s about the black tube I added to the roof so, here it is: my canopy setup.🤗 Mostly for shade, even though I didn’t set it up for optimal shade here in the test run.🤷🏼♂️ #Canopy #JeepCanopy #Jeep #JeepCherokee #jeepkl #CherokeeKL #Cherokee #Trailhawk https://www.instagram.com/p/B3PgqiVH2X3/?igshid=1lpjjzk3ml67b

KL Cherokee Side Ladder finished, initial tests good, build details below. So we drove around a bunch today, errands, mall crawled a little, found a KL parking buddy. I climbed on the ladder a lot, even had the kids climb on it, it is rock solid. I want to mention again, Jesse at MFC posted an image of an ‘over the rear window side ladder concept’ long ago. So I wasn’t the first to think of this or anything. Got some grade 8 hardware so, all that’s left is to drop everything off for powder coating this week. (Build details, long) First real cost, aside from my painful r&d time that left a couple paint scratches, added some hair loss, and my welding & labor: I bought a HF pipe bender, 20% coupon & tax, $170ish. I bought a 20 foot tube, $33 bucks at my local raw steel supplier, Western Steel. $10 in grade 8 bolts, nuts, washers and lock washers. $8, I used about 1/4 of a $30 cutting blade. Making my own, my welding is free, as is my R&D. Those things were hard, left a couple deep paint scratches, & caused some new hair loss. 😆🤣😂😭 While I made this ladder to fit my also custom made roof rack, such a concept can easily be shortened, the upper plate drilled to match the factory roof grommets, and it would fit any KL. There is a slant to the entire ladder (4 inches difference top to bottom), however the rungs are welded in level to ground. The bottom is NOT ‘bolt on’. It requires a drill, and for you to reach down check your junk, then take the drill & ‘send it’ through the fender, twice. All the way, without hitting the plastic wheel well (move it first). You’ll pass through the outer plastic easily, then hit the sheet metal fender under it. Once through, the base gets two G8 bolts just long enough to secure the ladder, plus a G8 washer & lock washer. I used 1 inch x 14 gauge ew tubing, on my 110v Lincoln Pro mig, that metal liked the 2nd of 4 power settings and about 2.75 wire feed speed. I use a cheap pawn shop chop saw with the abrasive style blades meant for cutting metal; and I cut slow since the saw’s speed is a tad high. It has lasted for all my metal projects so far. #Jeep #JeepCherokee #jeepkl #CherokeeKL #Cherokee #Trailhawk #mfcoffroad https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Ao25cHxPT/?igshid=16lrrg5icclwa

Our first day in Silverton, Colorado we took the Jeep Cherokee up Kendall Gulch and then to Deer Park. It was a cloudy day and it actually sleeted on the top of the mountain. ____________________________ #jeepkl #silverton #kendallgulch #deerpark #adventure #lifeofadventure#getoutside #outdoors #packandgo#travelgram#wanderlust#roadtrip #rvtravel #roadtrip #travel #fulltimervliving #fulltimerv #travellife #classc #rvlife #jeep #4x4 (at Silverton, Colorado) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2XS8TnBlzB/?igshid=urjoiyomh7gh
