Title: Getting The Grandkid To Do The Chores

Rating: General

Notes: I’m not sure how far I fulfilled the spirit of the request (as you can see I pared it down a bit) but hopefully it will be super amusing to make up for it :D 

What language do you use? I've seen this post a few times and while I like the idea I also do not generally use religious language. So if you have specific phrases that worked in a more secular context could you please share?

I guess you could call it emotional or therapeutic language. I’ve said “I hope you find more empathy in yourself someday” or “I’m sorry to see you can’t be more kind.” I think also you could say “I’m sorry to see hate is so deep in your heart” but that felt a bit extreme to me in the conversations I was having.  

I think the ultimate point is just to take the focus off whether or not X group deserves rights -- it assumes that they do and that in asserting they don’t, the other person is behaving badly. So it’s a lot about “Hey, you aren’t exactly being a nice person here.” Kindness, empathy, and compassion aren’t exclusive to any specific faith.

I can see times and dates on the queue page fine? weird font and labeling but it's there. Do you have other add-ons that might be messing with the updates?

Not on the queue side, but shit is changing so fast that perhaps I’ve got a bug you don’t. I just have times and days of the week, no dates, but a little calendar icon to say “this is scheduled”.

I think that offering your essay to someone else working on a research/library science degree, essentially offering it as a reverse engineering project, would be fascinating.

Is that the "Wait, Twitter is *public*?" film, or was that something else?

I honestly don’t remember, but I tend to tune out discussions of twitter in any case :D

I remember an LA Times editorial saying that Chef was a groundbreaking movie for letting the main character reclaim his masculinity and do things Men Should Do - eat meat, form their own business, road-trip. "Chef is a sexist movie - and that's a good thing" was the title, and the high point. I think about that column a lot.

Yeah, that checks out, I can see how it might appeal to a person who thinks their life is going poorly because Men Aren’t Allowed To Be Men Anymore.

I don’t know. I feel fandom has warmed up to Happy more with the Spider-Man movies, especially Far from Home. Prime time for creating a weird backstory AU. :D

PEAPOD, BABY. 

I get a big order from Peapod grocery delivery at the start of every month, then I supplement it with fresh stuff from Trader Joe’s. I do occasionally nip down to Jewel and pick something up if I can’t get it at TJ’s or can get it cheaper at Jewel, and PeaPod is supplied by Jewel anyway I believe, so I suppose you could call me a Jewel man :D

Coulda stayed home, done an online order/Coulda brought the uke, watch the line grow shorter...

I ALMOST DID BRING THE UKE :D But it’s an in-person sale, because it’s damaged/returned goods selling cheap, so you can’t really order the stuff online. I got some good deals!

I'm a little afraid you don't know what turkey-ham is, honestly. I had no idea it was so regional.

I mean, I’ve lived in a lot of different places, I’ve shopped and cooked for myself for over twenty years, I’ve NEVER SEEN Turkey-Ham. I’m sure it’s been there, I’ve just never encountered it. I think that’s what’s frightening me, maybe, that it’s clearly been present and flown under my radar. What else lurks in the grocery store?

Being fair to me, I don’t eat deli meat, like, it’s just not part of my diet, so I’m rarely in the deli meat area for long enough to spot stuff like that.

There is one moment that I've seen practically every Leverage fan either decry or attempt to give an alternate reason for - Hardison not tipping the delivery guy. I've never seen so many people united about such a short clip.
