After the 24-hour “A Christmas Story” marathon during which I think I managed two and a half full-if-distracted viewings, I’ve decided to read a little source material. Two observations so far: it’s fun to know his exact voice from the voiceovers in the movie and see exact phrases they lifted verbatim, like, “Downtown Hohman was prepared for its yearly bacchanalia of peace on earth and good will toward men” and “It was the classic Mother BB Gun Block! I was sunk!
