The episode (and series) begins in 2030 with an older Weronika telling her children the story of how she met their mother (aka Eren). The story begins in 2005, with Weronika's best friend and roommate RJ proposing to his boyfriend, March (MM), prompting Weronika to begin a search to find her own soulmate. At a pub called MacLarens, alongside her friend Brianna, Weronika meets budding news anchor, Diana, with whom she is instantly smitten. Weronika asks her out on a date, and the date is successful. The date concludes with Diana being called away for a news story. Weronika's friends tell her that she was supposed to kiss Diana before she left. Weronika goes to Diana's house (“Suited up”, much to Brianna's delight), with the company of RJ, MM, and Brianna. She stops at the restaurant of their first date and symbolically steals the blue French horn on the wall and continues on to Diana's apartment with the gang. Things are going great and they are about to kiss when Weronika inexplicably and prematurely tells Diana that she loves her, thus destroying her chances with her. After a lingering goodbye, and with the afterthought that she may or may not have missed “the signal” (missing out for the second time on her first kiss with her), Future Weronika tells her children that is the story of how she met their aunt Diana.
