the concept of poisoning someone and not getting away with it is so bewildering to me. the food could have been poisoned at any time, how can you mess up so bad that they clock you for poisoning? #JUSTICEFORJEAN

my old jean delamer theories in honor of him dying in chapter 2
since his motif was a dragon - a fictional creature - i really thought he wouldve been the mastermind or the ultimate hope. i really thought i had evidence to support both of these theories but looking back, i was reaching instead of cooking...
my case for him being the ultimate hope: he has showcased leader traits since the beginning and acted kind and jolly, helping everyone stay happy!!! he also has a golden aura (especially during the trials) which was kind of confirmation bias on my end.
my case for him being the mastermind: this is a stronger case than before. firstly, he is highly implied to be a cruel leader in his free time events and his imitation art. dragons symbolize authority, power, etc. though that depends on your source. dragons also usually protect treasure or other stuff in stories. hes also a great leader and i definitely couldve seen him becoming like a dictator in later chapters. (i also have a seperate theory for this without him being the matermind) hes also implied to be rich so he could definitely fund the killing game if he wanted to. despite being really smart hes really underestimated by the others (especially damon) which would take suspicion off of him because they assume hes a dumb pirate guy.
