Summary: Being trapped on a ferris wheel with your best friend makes you exposed to yet another one of his secrets - fear of heights. | fluff
mentions of blood, jealous!peter
There was a lot of good things that came with being Spiderman â unbelievable flexibility, cool suits, and a sort of freedom Peter didnât get while he was just Peter. But the job also came with less interesting factors, like how heâs still being tracked by Happy.
I help the avengers, I am an avenger, and Iâm still being watched like a kid, he thought, walking faster around the carnival.Â
He just wanted a normal day where he wasnât being attacked by monsters, and the trip was going fun until he got a call from Happy asking for information on why heâs out of the city.
âI am literally on a school trip!â He said exasperatedly, but the caller wouldnât budge.
âThatâs what you said last time and we saw how well that went.â
âOh, câmonââ
âLuckily, I happen to be near your location so Iâll drop by and check.â
âCheck? Youâre not embarrassing me in front of my friends. Happy- HAPPY?â The call had ended.
Groaning, he decided to stay low. He was Spiderman. How hard can it be to evade the eyes of one person?
Turns out â very hard. He saw the shadow of Happy in the distance, so he went the other way, where there was his school team near the Ferris wheel.
He spotted you getting seated in one of the booths and sighed in relief, easily walking past the ride attendants.Â
Your other friend was about to get in with you when Peter grabbed the edge of the door and hoisted himself up into the seat.
âPeter what theââ
âHi, bye! Itâs an emergency,â he said to the friend, who stood there baffled. âYou can take the next cabin. Maybe.â
Then he turned to you, who looked just as shocked.
âDid you even buy a ticket?â you asked wildly.
âAnd contribute to capitalism?â Peter looked betrayed, then smiled as the Ferris wheel started moving. âIâm just kidding, I didnât have time to get tickets. Like I said, thereâs an emergency.â
âOh shit, are there any monsters?â You looked down to the carnival, which was getting smaller and smaller. âHot aliens? Murderous unicorns?âÂ
âNo no, not that kind of emergency â wait, hot aliens?â
âLoki, duh,â you said with a shrug. âThat man is wow.â
âHeâs not that hot,â Peter disagreed, scoffing. âMaybe a little bitââ
âPeter, heâs hot.â
âI regret telling you Iâm part of the avengers.â
âOh please, I would have found out anyway. Perks of being your best friend.â
âMy best friend is Ned,â he corrected.
âA person can have two best friends!â You said swiftly, scowling. âAnd whatâs the big emergency then?â
âHappyâs checking on me again.â
âThatâs it?â
He frowned. âDonât look at me like that!â
âLike what?âÂ
âLike Iâm overreacting!â
âYour words, not mine,â you said, your hands raised in surrender. âAnd Happyâs a nice man. He just wants to make sure you donât get your head cut open like a stupid chicken.â
âThat was an incredibly specific insult,â he noted, shifting uncomfortably in his seat.Â
âAnother perk of being your bestââ your words were cut off as the Ferris wheel came to a stop. You looked down in shock.
âMust be some minor uh, breakdown,â Peter gulped, clutching the steel bar in front of him.Â
You stared down and realized that just as your luck would have it, the wheel had stopped right when your booth was at the highest point.Â
Some people on the ground were waving madly and yelling that they were getting the problem fixed. You raised a thumbs up and sat back with a sigh.
âDonât move too much!â Peter said warningly.
You were about to retort, then noticed he was looking like someone stabbed him in the chest. His face was paler than the sky behind him, and he was breathing through his mouth, quick and irregular. His knuckles had turned red from clutching the bar too much.
âAre you...scared of heights?â you asked, connecting the dots.
âNo!â His reply came quick. You raised an eyebrow so he added, âIâm just not a fan of it.â
âBut youâre Spiderman,â you reasoned.
âI know the irony of it, thank you Y/N, helps me a ton.â
You tried not to smile. âIf it makes you feel any better, even if the ride breaks and we all fall down, youâll have the least chance of dying. With your stickiness and all.â
âThis is why Ned is my best friend,â he said, closing his eyes.Â
âNo, Iâm serious, I had a dream like this once. You were okay, but me? I had to rush to the hospital. Blood, blood, and more blood, I think I diedââ
âHOW IS THAT HELPING ME?â he shrieked, his eyes still closed.
âThought it might distract youââ
âYou have a sick sense of humor.â
âFine,â you folded your hands, looking straight ahead. It was hard being mad at someone when youâre trapped with them in the air.
He slowly peeked his eyes open. âCan you please hold onto the safety fence?â
âWhy?â
âFor safety. You literally gave me a very graphic description of what would happen if you fall.â
âHey, hey,â you said, turning to him slowly in your seat. âWeâll be fine. I was joking. Say it with me, weâll be okay.â
âWeâll be okay,â he repeated, sighing.
âGood, but in case I die, tell Loki he was the love of my life.â
âFOR GODâS SAKE,â he interrupted, looking down the Ferris wheel for the first time. âSOMEONE GET ME AWAY FROM THIS SIMP!â
âAnd you say youâre not overdramatic,â you muttered under your breath, rolling your eyes.
-
After roughly 15 minutes, the ride started working again, and at the sudden movement, Peter took your hand, grasping it tightly like thereâs no tomorrow.
âItâs okay, weâre going down,â you explained, but he either didn't hear you or opted to ignore you altogether. He only let go once you reached the ground.Â
âSee, you didn't die,â he said, buying a stuffed frog toy from the nearby store. âAnd on the plus side, Happy lost us too.â
âYour first instinct after you get down from a life or death situation is to buy a frog?â you asked, pointing at the green thing.
âThis is Mr. Smiles,â he said seriously, handing it over to you. âMr. Smiles is a reminder for you to not have dark thoughts, especially not the ones where you fall off a Ferris wheel and die.â
âIn my defense, I canât exactly control my dreams,â you replied, though you did hold Mr. Smiles tightly.Â
âYeah, but if you have nightmares like that again, tell me okay?â Peter asked, sounding worried.Â
âItâs not a big dealââ
âPromise me.â
âFine,â you declared, giving up.
Peter looked pleased and a pleasant silence followed the conversation, only to be broken by Peter himself.
âLoki isn't that hot, is he?â
You bit back your smile. âHe is, but heâs not my type.â
âAh, good. Whoâs your type then?â
âAdorable, dorky, dense guys who also happen to my best friend.â
âI am not dense, câmon I got an A in Physics. Wait â Iâm your type? Y/N? Y/N! You canât just walk away!â

prompt for the 3 sentence fic : Peter wants to hung out with MJ but she tells him she canât that day cause she has something to do . Later He discovers that she was meeting up with some guy (maybe an old friend or idk an ex ??) so he gets jealous and all that jazz
ohhhlalala jealousy peter aka my fave! please don't at me for the punctuation liberties...
He overhears Brad telling MJ he had a good time last night and he rips his Spanish textbook in half - it's not that MJ can't see anyone outside of him and Ned - though she said she didn't really like anyone else and Peter is like 67% sure she doesn't have a group project that would mean she had to see Brad... but she also told him she was seeing a movie with her mum when he asked to hang out yesterday.
"Hey, MJ, how was the movie with your mum?" Peter asks, shoving the second half of his textbook into his bag and running to meet her at her locker the second Brad leaves.
"Yeah, good thanks, Parker," she replies and he knows she's lying because she's tapping her left index finger against the door of her locker, and she won't meet his eyeline - he just doesn't know why.
This was requested by an anon. Thank you for the request love!! XOXO
And... also. This was mostly written in a sleep-muddled haze, slightly highlighted by a sudden intense motivation to remove all forms of stress from my life in an attempt to finally get a restful sleep... which meant finishing this one... long... piece of craziness which to me makes kinda no sense right now. So, yeah. I hope it doesnât suck to bad lol. If it does... oh well. Iâll embrace it.
âHey, Pete. You know about Harley, right?â Tony spun around fancily in his chair to fix the teen in question with a contemplative raise of his brows. Peter turned away from his project momentarily to cast a glance at his mentor in response.
âUh, that kid from Tennessee youâve been collaborating with for, like, the past month?â
Peter hated that kidâŚ
âThatâs the one,â Tony grinned brightly. He spun in his chair again, turning back to the work he had abandoned. âHeâs wanting to come down for a couple weeks to help me out on a new suit. Heâs had a few promising ideas. I want you to meet him.â
Peter blinked dumbly at the admittance from the man. Mr. Stark wanted him to meet his sworn enemy? Of course, Mr. Stark didnât know about his silent, one-sided rivalry he held with the boy heâd never even met, but⌠still! Heâd been fighting desperately for even the tiniest amount of Tonyâs attention while heâd been rather preoccupied talking to this Harley kid about their project. Who knows how far heâd have to go if the other teen actually came for a visit? Gosh, Peter could see it nowâŚÂ
âYeah, sure. Whenâs he coming?â Peter shrugged, hoping Mr. Stark wouldnât catch on to the mild irritation lacing his tone.
âHeâs coming next week. I thought-â
âSpring break week?!â Peter cried out, spinning in his chair to settle his mentor with a wide-eyed glare to match his flabbergasted outburst.Â
âWell⌠yeah. I thought itâd be perfect for you two-â
âBut that was the week I was staying here with you and we were going to do cool stuff together!âÂ
Gosh! He sounded like such a whiny baby.
Peter didnât even know how the situation was able to make itself worse, but it had. He couldnât believe that this prick had the audacity to waltz back into Tonyâs life after who knew how many years and demand attention from him. It almost took a whole year for Mr. Stark to stop addressing him as if he were an immature, irresponsible child and invite him over to see his lab. A whole year! From the stories Peter has heard about this âHarleyâ kid, they had barely even known each other a couple days back then!Â
Gosh! And now his obnoxious rival was eating up all the attention like candy⌠and Tony notoriously had a limited attention span when it came to things without mechanical parts or red hair accompanied by clickity-clackity heels.
âNow Pete,â Tony lamented, summoning his practiced âDad voiceâ. âI think this will be good for you. Iâm sure you two will be good friends. And we can still do things with Harley here; heâs really smart too, you know.â
And, yes, Peter did, in fact, know that Harley was a genius too. How could he not? Tony practically told him and anyone that would listen every day. He can still remember when he was the one being bragged about by Tony Stark. Which *ahem* was before âHarleyâ came prancing back into the geniusâ life from a legit midst of nothingness.
âBut câmon,â Peter whined, âthatâs like the only week I have off before school ends. And then I have to go on that summer trip⌠we were supposed to hang outâŚâ
âI know Pete,â Tony sighed, almost sounding guilty, but not quite, âI know you were looking forward to it just being the two of us. Sometimes we all have to make sacrifices though kiddo. I thought that this would be a fun bonding experience for all of us. Harleyâs a lot of fun.â
Peter sulked and slowly turned back to his own project while Tony continued trying to reason with him dejectedly.
âYou need to get used to him eventually. Heâs graduated high school and I plan on giving him a high-profile intern job with R&D. So, heâll be around a lot.â
Intern? Intern?! Peter couldnât believe it. He thought that reckless, brunette, genius, teen boys were just a dime in a dozen, but he supposed if anyone were to attract them itâd be Tony Stark. It was stupid of him to think that he was anything special to begin withâŚ

âWhatâs got you all riled up this time âround Spider-baby?â Rhodey asked, plopping down next to him on the couch as he scribbled out numbers angrily onto his Calc homework. Tony had been too busy talking to Harley to help him out like he usually did.Â
âNothing,â he muttered, releasing a growl as he realized heâd done the whole equation wrong and immediately began running the eraser violently across the page. The thin sheet ripped dramatically, and it only fueled his anger. He seethed and struggled to not lash out as he started crumbling the paper into a tight ball.
âAh, yes,â Rhodey chuckled slightly, âI forgot it was opposite day today.â
He probably thought he was sooo funny.
âItâs not. Everythingâs fine.â Peter insisted, pulling out another loose sheet of paper from his binder.
âI can see that,â Rhodey mused as he watched Peter scribble the equation across the top line of the paper again.
They sat there in companionable silence as Peter tried and failed at solving the problem once again. Some genius he was. No wonder Mr. Stark preferred Harley.
âWhereâs Tony?â Rhodey finally pipes up when he watches Peter fail another attempt, âDoesnât he usually help you out with this stuff?â
âYeah,â Peter huffed, sounding dejected. His scribbling paused and he stared down at the paper. âHeâs busy though. Harleyâs coming to visit and theyâre sorting it all out.â
âI see,â Rhodey admits, nodding his head. âWell, Iâm no genius like Tony, but I know my way around numbers. I didnât go to MIT for nothing kid. Let me take a crack at it.â
Peterâs eyes light up momentarily at the offer of some much-needed help and he eagerly handed the paper over.
âWe just started doing differentials, and my teacher didnât tell us how to do all the weird eâs and natural logs.â
âOh, thatâs easy. Lookie here kiddieâŚâ

Peter savored the last few moments he had with his mentor before Harley arrived. They were both waiting at the airport for him, because apparently Harleyâs mother was extremely insistent that Tony didnât just hand off the responsibility to one of his lackeys. Apparently, neither Harley nor his family had ever been outside of Tennessee, so both were somewhat nervous with the spontaneous vacation.
âIâm totally dreading having to do those assignments Mr. Stark,â Peter spieled, hoping to get in as much as he could before the geniusâ attention was inevitably averted to the new teen intern arriving in the next few minutes. âItâs like I donât already do enough homework during the school year. They just have to hand out packets of work that we haven't even covered yet.â
âI can see how that would be a problem,â Tony chuckled, âMaybe I can hel- Look there he is!â Tony points at a mass of bodies coming through the gate exits. Peter immediately spots a tall, lanky teen boy, and he gulps at the striking similarities between them. No wonder Tony liked Peter so much⌠he probably reminded the man of Harley. Tony and Harley go farther back than he and Peter did⌠no wonder.
âHey kid,â Tony smiled, looking excited as the older boy hurried up to the waiting pair.Â
âHey old man. Howâs it hanging? Long time no see.â Harley laughed and didnât even hesitate to throw his arms around the manâs neck in a friendly hug, and to Peterâs utter and complete surprise⌠Tony hugged him too, with a friendly - not at all awkward - pat on the back to go with it!
âStop calling me old you brat,â he teased, clapping him on the back and pulling away from the hug to get a fresh look at him. âLook at you kid. I remember when you were just an annoying little toddler of a child.â
âYeah, well, what did you expect after 7 years?â
7 years?? He was practically the same age as Peter! And he was done with high school? Oh goodness, how was he supposed to top that?
âWhatever,â Tony muttered lightheartedly. âLetâs go get your bags. Oh!â He turned to look at Peter as if just remembering he was there, âand this is Peter. Heâs a science nerd too.â
âReplaced me already Stark?â Harley feigned hurt.
âSure did,â Tony quipped back.
Peterâs heart hurt at that; it stuttered obnoxiously against his chest. He knew it was just a joke. He knew. That didnât make the blow any softer though.
It only seemed to get worse from there...Â
Instead of throwing his arm around Peterâs shoulders like he would usually do, Tony threw them around Harleyâs instead, chatting animatedly to the young teen as they navigated their way through the throngs of people. At least Peter got a firm hand on the back of his neck to guide him so he didnât get lost as if he were a small child. That was at least something, right?
Then, when they got to the car, Harley had immediately shouted shotgun, because he was a jerk like that. Tossing Peter a teasing look as he hopped into the front seat of the Audi. Tony just laughed as he stuffed luggage into the trunk and Peter sulked and grumbled under his breath as he climbed into the backseat, ready to endure through the excited chattering that was sure to emit from the front of the car.
When they got back to the Compound, Peter felt for a moment that things would get better, because Mr. Stark through an arm over his shoulders instead of Harleyâs as they walked in⌠but things didn't get better. Tony told him to show Harley to the room heâd be staying in⌠which, conveniently, just so happened to be Peterâs room. The other guest rooms were full because the Rogues had come back along with a few added guests, and Mr. Stark for some reason thought it would be a good âbonding opportunityâ for them⌠yeah right. So, yeah, Peter would be sharing a room with his undeclared arch nemesis too. How great was that?!
Then, maybe an hour later when they headed down to Mr. Starkâs workshop, Tony and Harley were quick to get to work on their joint project while Peter went off to work with his lonesome self at his desk. It was just as Peter expected. They offered to involve Peter in the project of course, but⌠it just felt wrong somehow.Â
And he longer he was down in the lab with nothing but his web shooters to distract his overeager mind, the longer he contemplated the angered feelings that had been accumulating in his gut since itâd been declared that Harley would be coming for an impromptu visit. The more he thought, the more the guilt began to replace the anger. And the more guilt he felt, the more he realized how much of a clingy, selfish child heâd been acting.
Mr. Stark wasnât his Dad. Mr. Stark didnât have to give him his sole attention at every hour of every day. Heck, the man didnât have to give him any attention at all, but he did. So, therefore, Peter should be grateful for what he received and not what he had to share with others, and even what could possibly be taken from him entirely. It was never his to begin with⌠so he had no right to get upset.
Thoughts like this continued to plague his mind, and he became a bit⌠panicky.Â
Harley had every right to come visit.... Apparently, according to the conversations he could overhear, Tony and Harley had kept in good contact through the years. Harley didnât have a father either. The teen had every right to imprint on Tony just like Peter had done, because the man was great. He was caring and funny, and just a bit overbearing... the perfect father in Peter's mind. He shouldnât get jealous and declare a silent war against someone when they were simply seeking for the same comfort and validation that had been and was still seeking. It wasnât right. It was selfish.
Peter got to see Mr. Stark almost twice a week! Harley didnât get any of that. He got a few phone calls and facetimes, but that was it!
Why was he such a selfish, ungrateful brat? Aunt May hadnât raised an ungrateful brat.
Peter dropped his head in his hands and sighed, trying to find at least some way to validate his feelings so he wouldnât have to feel so guilty. He couldnât find anything.
See⌠Peter wouldnât be feeling any of this if Harley just⌠if he hadnât come at all. Still, that didnât help to quench the deep-seated guilt pooling in his stomach. He didnât know why something that made Mr. Stark smile was making him so mad. Wait! He did know! He was selfish! Oh yeah, how could he possibly forget?
***
So, in an attempt to compensate for the unreasonable hatred he had developed towards the teen, he made extra effort to not hate him⌠if that made any sense.Â
It seemed to work too.
Since they shared a room it was fairly easy to get to know him, because apparently Harley enjoyed having nearly an hour conversation in the dark before falling asleep at night. Peter learned a lot about him during the first night, and it turned out to be pretty easy to like him. His personality was cool and amusing; a lot like Mr. Starkâs.Â
Peter made an extra effort to be nice and happy the next day too. Things went about the same way, except towards the end of the night, they watched a quick movie before bed.
Then, on the second night, things got a little deeper⌠Harley asked about Peterâs parents and how he came to know Tony, and, well⌠Peter told him. Which led to Peter asking Harley a similar question, due to the specifics social edicate. Peter empathized with him instantly, especially when the teen shyly admitted his embarrassing dependence heâd acquired towards the genius after only a month of near constant contact, and how grateful he was for the time he was able to spend with him. That wasnât something to ease the guilt in Peterâs stomach at all, but it definitely gave Peter a more mature view on the matter. He got a new friend out of it too.
The next day, though, Peter caught on to something rather unnerving.Â
He had spent so much time worrying that Harley was going to steal time away from Mr. Stark that he hadnât realized how much time he was actually stealing away from Harley. He hadnât really noticed the fact that Mr. Stark was somewhat of a mother hen and took every available opportunity to check on him and make sure he was doing okay. Heâd been blinded by his jealousy before, and perhaps a little peevish the past couple days after realizing that he was actually the one in the wrong, but yeah! Mr. Stark wouldnât stop fussing over him every hour or so, even when he was in the midst of a detailed planning stage with Harley. Peter got a glimpse of the frustration that flickered across the other teenâs face when Mr. Stark paused in their ministrations to turn and address Peter, yet again⌠making sure he wasnât thirsty or hungry for lunch even though it was barely noon, for perhaps the third time that morning.
Thatâs what made up Peterâs mind. He could relate to Harley way too easily, and he hated the idea of the dude not being able to get the most out of his once in forever visit with his undeclared father figure. He was a nice guy, and heâd been through a lot in life too⌠it wasnât right for Peter to be a constant interruption to their rare bonding time. So, he dismissed himself from the lab, apologizing to Mr. Stark for his demise, and shooting a knowing look and a âyouâre welcomeâ wink to Harley, who just rolled his eyes in response.
Mr. Stark, of course, put up immediate protest.
âOh, câmon kiddo. Am I being pushy again? I wonât ask anymore, I swear it. You donât gotta go, I know I promised you weâd spend this week off school together.â
Peter flinched inwardly. He didnât know how he could have possibly thought Tony was replacing him. The man just cared too much sometimes. He had too much care to go around to ever run out of it. His attention span may be meager, but his affection never was.
âItâs cool Mr. Stark. I gotta get a head start on that homework anyway.â
âAlright,â Tony voiced warily, watching reluctantly as Peter gathered up his things and headed for the exit, âlet me know if you need help on anything.â
âSure thing Mr. Stark,â Peter smiled sadly.Â
He was doing the right thing - he knew that. It was just hard⌠but at the same time so liberating to know he helped another fatherless kid get to know their wished-to-be father-figure.
***
âHey, um, Colonel Rhodes?â Peter piped up hesitantly, approaching the man in the kitchen, clutching a thick pile of paper in his hands, âIâm reviewing for my AP exam, and these practice questions are ridiculously hard. Can you help me a little bit?â
Rhodey grinned and put down his mug of coffee to accept the thick packet offered to him. âSure kiddo letâs get setup at the dining table. This is probably gonna take a while.â
***
âHello?â Peter peeked into the hi-tech lab, looking much different from Mr. Starkâs, with the overall cleanliness, âMr. Bruce, Dr. Banner, sir?â
âOh, hello, Peter,â Bruce greeted warmly, snapping his head to the side to look at the teen. âWhat can I do for you today?âÂ
âOh, um, well I got some homework⌠and Mr. Stark is kinda busy⌠and Mr. Rhodes doesnât know a whole lot about ChemistryâŚâ He trailed off a bit, a bit nervous having to ask the world-renowned scientist for help on his high school homework. âAn-and thereâs some Biology too⌠itâs just kinda hard, and I was hoping that you could just explain a couple things to me?â
âOf course!â Bruce chirped eagerly, pushing displays and rolly tables out of his way as he approached Peter, âletâs take a look.â
***
âHey, kiddo, howâre things going?â Tony asked, venturing up from the workshop after his three-day binge with Harley. Heck, Peter thinks they might have even slept down there if they had slept at all. âSorry that I sorta abandoned you up here, we were kinda in the zone down there, werenât we Harley?â Tony turned to the grease-stained teen beside him for confirmation. The boy nodded, laughing slightly before heading in the direction of the kitchen to retrieve some water.Â
Peter smiled⌠his jealousy had significantly dissipated over the past three days, and he was happy for them. Heâd actually had a pretty great time in Mr. Starkâs absence anyway. Of course, not quite as great as it would have been if the man had been there himself, but it was still good. So, not much room for him to complain.
âItâs okay Mr. Stark. Iâm sorry I didnât go down to visit you guys more than I did. I was just wanted to focus on my homework⌠itâs kinda hard to figure out on my own, yâknow.â
âWell, I got some time now. Pull it out here kid,â Tony smiled, dropping down on the couch next to him, wearing an excited grin despite the bags beneath his eyes, and kicking his feet up on the coffee table. âIâll walk you through those tricky differentials again and whatever else mightâve stumped you. I swear the education system is just getting worse every passing year-â
âItâs okay Mr. Stark, I finished it already?â
âOh,â Tony voice rose a pitch in surprise, eyebrows raising as well, âdid you want me to check answers or something on the ones you're unsure of?â
âNo, itâs okay,â Peter smiled comfortingly at the man, âMr. Rhodes helped me with my Calculus already.â
âRhodey?â Tony spluttered indignantly, seemingly surprised by the notion. âOh... well, what about Chemistry? You were going on and on and on the other day about the ridiculous amount of unneeded work. Did you get that finished up too?â
âYep,â Peter nodded proudly, not quite registering the perturbed expression on Tonyâs face after he said it, âDr. Banner helped me out. He actually said I can come by tomorrow so we can go over some flash cards we made together. I need to memorize a few things, but after that I should ace the final exam easily.â
âOkay,â Tony nodded solemnly, gazing out blankly at the room while he thought, âwell, Iâm not excellent in the subject, but if you still need some help with the English packet, Iâm-â
âItâs all good, I got Ms. Natasha to help me. Sheâs actually really good with languages Mr. Stark, did you know that? She speaks, like, a ton of them!â
Peter hesitated when he saw Tony grit his teeth in frustration. He wasnât sure what he had done to frustrate the man. He had done him a favor! He left him alone so he could focus on making a bond with his newer teenage intern! Heâd even done all the work so he didnât feel required to help!
âYou good Tony?â Harley asked, taking note of the engineerâs distressed face when he reappeared with two glasses of water.
âYeah, all good kid. Just thinking about what I can do with Pete here since Iâve practically ignored him the whole week.âÂ
Peter smiled at the thoughtfulness, but at the same time⌠he really didn't want Mr. Stark to feel obligated to spend time with him.
âHey, Pete, you ready to go kid?! I donât got all day!â Clint suddenly appeared in the room, twirling a set of car keys on his finger. âOh, hey Stark. Howâre you and your new MiniMe getting on? I donât think weâve had the privilege of meeting this one.â
âThis is Harley,â Tony introduced gruffly, staring the man down. âWhatâre you and Peter doing?â
âOh, the kid mentioned that he hadnât started on his hours for driving yet. He needs a ton of practice before heâs allowed to get his license apparently! So, I offered to take him for a little spin. Why? Did you need him for something? Iâm sure we can postpone it until later, right Pete?â
Peterâs brows furrowed when he took in Mr. Starkâs fidgety nature, sitting rigidly on the couch, rather than his original relaxed position.Â
âNo, no, itâs fine. Just donât let him kill anyone. His Aunt will never let me see him again. Stay safe kiddo.â
Then, with that, Tony shot out instructions for Harley to eat and shower before disappearing from the room himself with his head bowed slightly, muttering nonsense under his breath. Soon, only Peter and Clint were left in the room.
Peter couldnât help but feel good at knowing he hadnât gotten in Mr. Starkâs or Harleyâs way. Of course, he was a little upset that he didnât get to spend quite as much time with his mentor as he was hoping, but he was glad he was able to help Harley out all the same.Â
***
Tony was getting pissed. It was Saturday and he and Peter still hadnât done anything bond-y related all week. He and Harley had long since finished their project, and Peterâs empty desk was giving him the jitters. He knew what the kid was oh-so busy doing, and it made him the slightest bit angry. He didnât understand why the kid seemed to be going out of his way to avoid him. It didnât seem like anything was wrong when they talked!
âHey, kid, wanna have a little training session before I head back to the lab?â
âNo thanks Mr. Stark. Iâm still kinda tired from my session with Steve. Heâs real intense, did you know that Mr. Stark?
âHey, buddy, want me to go out on patrol with you? Harleyâs off visiting colleges right now.â
âSorry Mr. Stark,â Peter actually looked slightly guilty for that one, âbut I promised Iâd help Bucky with his new computer game. I have to teach him how to set up mods⌠I think that might take a while. Maybe next time?â
âHey, Pete? Wanna go out to dinner with me and Harley?â
âCanât! Sorry Mr. Stark!â He had shouted urgently, making an effort to shove Sam over in an attempt to affect the character on screen. âIn the middle of a Mario Kart tournament... Yes!â
It was driving him crazy!
âHey, um, Tony?â Harley started out worriedly, eyeing the man from across the table, âyou good?â
Tonyâs grip tightened momentarily on the screwdriver as he tried to repress the accumulating frustration. It doesnât last long, though. He throws the tool down and stares up at Harley scornfully.
âHey, no need to get fussy at me!â Harleyâs quick to defend himself, dropping his own tools to throw his hands up in defense.Â
âItâs not you kid,â Tony grumbles with a slight roll of his eyes, turning his attention back to his project.Â
âIs it Peter? You keep glaring at his deskâŚâ
Tony stays silent for a moment, risking another glance up to stare at Peterâs desk a few tables down. The silence permeates in the room and for a moment Harley didnât think he was going to say anything. Boy, was he wrongâŚ
âSince when did he become so chummy with âem, huh?â The man scoffed, turning back to look at the surprised boy across from him. He dismisses the befuddled expression and keeps right on going in voicing his frustration. âI mean, câmon! These bastards know thatâs my kid, and now theyâre all eating up his time when he was supposed to spend the week with me! We were gonna do all these fun projects and we havenât done anything yet! Thereâs only a day left of his vacation! I was going to help him with his homework too, cuz, yâknow, thatâs what I do, right? I mean, itâs not too unreasonable to for them to have some manners and at least ask-â
***
âHeck, man, you better spend some time with your old man before he has a hissy fit,â Harley voices as he adjusts the sheets on the air mattress heâd been sleeping on. âOr at least another one.â
âWhat are you talking about Harley?â Peter laughed as he climbed onto his own bed.
Harley gives him a look.
âIâm talking about the full half-hour frustration fueled rant your Dad went on about after you turned us down for dinner. He went on and on about how you guys hadnât done anything together the whole week. It was actually pretty funny. It looked like he was about to throw a tantrum or something.â
Peter stared at him for a moment, a little dazed by the admittance.
âAre you kidding?!â He cried dramatically, âIâve literally been going out of my way so you guys could spend time together without me.â
âWell, why the heck would you do that?â Harley laughed, looking at him as if he were crazy.
âYou need a Dad!â Peter argued defiantly, throwing his hands out to gesture in the other teenâs direction, as if he were the one to blame.
âSo?â Harley scoffed, âdoesnât mean I have to steal yours⌠You do realize thereâs this thing called sharing. Itâs quite popular nowadays-â
A pillow was subsequently slammed in his face.
âShut up,â Peter muttered a bit embarrassedly.
âWhatever,â Harley muttered, tossing the pillow back at him, âbut you better get your butt down in the shop with us tomorrow. I donât wanna deal with one of our Dadâs tantrums on my own again.â
Peter stared at him, dumbfounded, but Harley ignored him.Â
The lights had long since shut off when a slow smile slowly inched across his face to replace the gob smacked hole.
It would be kinda cool to have a brother.
Oh my GOD Iâm so glad Iâm done with this one. Phew! I was definitely struggling! Sorry if it sucks, but thanks for reading. And thank you @irondadbingo for the card :)
Are there fics where Pete's jealous of Wade's previous relationships (preferably Cable) and insecure about his inexperience in romantic/sexual wise compared to Wade?

hey, brothers fight by tempestaurora part of a series
Harley had said something three days earlier. It was offhanded and immediately forgotten by him, while Peter continued to think about it for the next seventy-two hours.
âSorry, Parker â itâs family dinner night.â
Family dinner night.
And family, apparently, didnât include Peter Parker.
So, maybe heâd been spending the past three days passive aggressively talking about all the things Mr Stark and he had in common that Harley couldnât relate to. Maybe heâd been pulling Iron Man out and specifically searching for danger that he would normally avoid or leave to the Devil of Hellâs Kitchen or some other vigilante. Maybe heâd been solely focused on giving a metaphorical middle finger to Harley by having oh so many inside jokes with Mr Stark.
Peter knew it was stupid.

All I see is green by keenerparkerstark?
Peter Parker feels on top of the world. Getting good grades in high school, spending time with Tony Stark (!!!) on his weekends, and at night, he roams the city as the hero known as Spider-Man! Everything changes when a new student shows up at Midtown who seems determined to take it all away from him.

The Real Son by siriuspiggyback
When Peter first saw the news headline, his stomach dropped to the vicinity of his toes. âTony Starkâs Secret Sonâ it proclaimed. âImages leaked of Tony with Teen.â
When the first photo was shown, Peterâs first reaction was relief. The kid on the screen wasnât Peter. His identity was safe. Then came something like jealousy, a bitter flavour to it. He wondered whether Tony would still want to hang out with him, now that he had a real son.
Why couldnât he just feel happy for Mr Stark?

Baby Winter Soldiers and Jealous Spiderlings by AlienPsycho
The Prompt âde-agedâ Bucky - only whatever was used to de-age him, because of his super-soldier serum, brought him back to his 20- something self from the 30s/40s. And young, not brain-washed Bucky sees Tony, and turns into his young, charming, flirty self.
From Peter Parkerâs point of view. Brief, and not very detailed. He doesnât like the idea of sharing his father figure/mentor.

it sinks its roots into the cracks (until the structureâs coming loose) by madasthesea
âI canât believe Tony Stark is gonna have a kid.â
The worst part is that Peterâs first thought is, He already has one, followed by the sinking realization that that isnât quite true.

Summary:
Peter Parker, it turns out, is a little bit stupid and adorable and hilarious when he's drunk.
I was sitting in the living quarters of avengers tower as my aunts and uncles rolled in from a what Iâve been told was a painful mission. I wasnât ever allowed to go on missions because my dad was over protective. Youâd think he would be happy to fight along side his little girl actually being able to watch her? But no he doesnât. And I wasnât even supposed to call the avengers aunt or uncle because dad thinks itâs degrading to our name and he gets weirded out by why i would even want to be hypothetically related to any of them.
Anyway everyone was rolling in from the mission and they are keeping Loki at avengers tower until Thor can take him and himself back to Asgard. The way papa always talked about Loki I always imagined this awful sludge like intergalactic villainous creep with a razor smile and cold piercing eyes.
Well the cold part was right and I was sipping a bottle of water as I saw my uncle Thor walk in with whom I assume was Loki. I donât even think I blinked after they walked in because he was FAR from what I thought he was going to look like. BETTER than what I thought heâd look like.
I was pulled away from my staring by an agitated peter snapping in my face. â(Y/n)?? (Y/N)!!â I shook my head a little bit before looking at him. He didnât look mad but he looked hurt and agitated. âWhatâs wro-â I started to ask but forgot the water in my mouth. Now I was agitated and went to go change into dry clothes leaving an agitated peter on the couch.
(Peterâs POV)
I watched as she left from the room to change out of her now soaked clothes and I swear that asgardian villain smirked at me. She knows who that is right? That she canât be with him right her dad would kill her. She wouldnât be. She COULDNT be interested in Loki right? I take another glance at Loki, the way he was dressed, the way he walked, the way he looked. Heâs got the bad boy vibe written all over him. Heâs a villain so of course that would be the case. But maybe thatâs (y/nâs) type.. I know for sure Iâm not her type. I mean I work for her dad for Godâs sake!! THE Tony Stark! Iâm spider man I work for iron man I stress about my school grades and am at Tonyâs beckon call and Iâm just.. a good guy.. sheâll never be interested in me until something about me changes..
(Tonyâs POV)
I was standing in the kitchen with Steve Bruce and Thor at maybe one in the morning. I was sipping some alcohol... give me some slack Iâve cut back.
Steve stares at his glass of water and smiles before looking up at us âyou know? I really think this girl is the oneâ
Bruce raises an eyebrow âNaomi?â
Thor grins âthe street girl!â
Sometimes I worry about Thor and the way he says things...
I decided to speak up âwell while thatâs all grandy dandy cap I really donât feel itâs such a good idea to start courting a girl you got off the great streets of New York,â
âGive him a break tony,â Bruce said and then moved to whisper in my ear âIâm just happy heâs not dwelling on lost time,â I gave a âalrightâ shrug. I was entitled to my opinion and I had a right to state said opinion so I did.
All of a sudden cap starts to snicker and based on our very recent conversation I donât think there was any comical matter, Bruce pinches the bridge of his nose so I turn around and thereâs peter fucking Parker sneaking past the kitchen to who knows where to dressed in all black, chains on every part of his clothes he could think to attach chains to and just.. wow
âPeter what the hell?â I said very confused furrowing my brows. âHey old manâ
Steve bursts out into cackles and I get angry âexcuse me Iâm not old! And that is mr.stark to you kid!â
He rolls his eyes and man when my girl does that it makes me soooo mad. I grab him by his upper arm and drag him to my lab.
âYou best start a damn good explanation in the next ten seconds!â I sneered and gave him my danger dad voice.
âWell uh.. y-you canât get mad s-sir..â there it is. Good regular peter Parker.
âYou have FIVE seconds.â
âI like your daughter! And I saw her staring at Loki and so I thought maybe her types bad boys an Iâm such a good guy she wouldnât like me so i decided to be a bad boy but you found out and you werenât supposed to and Iâm really sorry I called you old man please donât fire me..â
I blinked taking a moment to process what he said. I pinched the bridge of my nose and took a deep breath.
âOkay... is first of all donât worry about my daughter thatâs a no no we donât do that. We donât touch that. Thatâs off limits. So thereâs the dad part out of the way. But even if my daughters type was a bad boy which it MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT sheâs not dumb. She knows better, over my dead body in a fiery battle over the population of the earth against an intergalactic dictator. but even if that WERE the case you should not compromise who you are for my daughter. If she does have interest in you I know sheâd like Spider-Man, not.. goth boy... understand?â
The kid smiled and said âyeah, thanks mister stark!â
âYeah whatever get out before I decide to fire you.â The kid then scurried our while trying to simultaneously pull off the black jacket he has on. I shook my head before sitting down.
Looks like Iâm going to have a chat with that daughter of mine about why Loki is WAY off limits.
