As I began to pray tonight, I thought of only one thing. Not my grades, my family, or my races. I thought of José, and the positive impact he had on my life. He was a light that shined down even on my darkest days, and I'll forever love him for that. He played with compassion, love, and happiness, and I'll forever regret never being given the opportunity to watch him pitch in person. It's going to forever be on the bucket list, because the Lord only knows how much I want to. I thought of how his teammates must have felt, given the opportunity to know and cherish him, and I wonder what is going on in their minds as they lay their heads down tonight. I hope they will continue to move past this as a team, and they're all in my prayers. José will forever be on my mind, because I think of him every day. I hope that each and every one of you find peace with his passing, and I hope that one year later, we can all grieve together and remember not his death, but the smiles and memories he has given us. I hope that each and every one of you can move past this somehow, because I'm trying to. Together, as a community, I hope we find peace.
