JDatE AU idea: He's fucking dead (aka the one where John actually dies and is dead on hold in reincarnation land)
-john died in the second book when the shadows came. he took the bullet for Dave and bled to death as time resumed.
- Todd is alive and part of the gang
- Todd is Anubis in the same way John was Min
- John comes back later on as an owl that keeps pestering Dave
- Molly doesn't exist because Todd survived the shadows
- Todd does taxidermy and works at the local funeral home owned by his family.
- Todd helped organize John's funeral
- John wrote in his will that Dave and Amy get his sex gear. So now there is a single giant dildo on a bookshelf at Dave's house next to a picture of John. (Because you know, Min and fertility symbolism. It's up to you what he did with that before hand, I don't really care just that there's a dick statue memorial for the sake of continuity.)
- Todd makes a map of the town and other dimensions they've seen to keep track of things.
- owl has been attacking people for current book and a half like Australia magpies in nesting season.
- Dave and Amy have an actual house in the third book.
